on Manifesting Abundance at Manifesting with the Law of Attraction

What is it that brings about healing and attracts love, joy, peace and prosperity into our lives? As a journalist, writer and author, I’ve studied science and spirituality for decades and perhaps like you have formed a seamless belief system that makes sense of everything.

So I’m excited when I see proof of it, which comes over and over again and most recently in an e-mail message from a new friend of mine in Pittsburgh. He wrote to say that when we hugged, he felt the direct transfer of something from me into his chest. It didn’t carry any emotional impact, but a physical shift in his energies transpired and the next day rid him of a misconception that had caused him a great deal of anxiety.

Could I explain what had happened, he asked? Were these two events connected? What isn’t, I laughed in delight, replying with the lessons my inner voice of wisdom had just been teaching me!

Bearers of light

I spoke to David of liking him from the moment we met, as I’d sensed something very special in him. He was coordinating the Sunday service at his Unity church, and as he stood at the podium, speaking so gently of love, my heart opened and I became aware of the high spiritual energies in the room. I was there to speak and my travel fatigue instantly melted away.

During the “meet and greet” portion of the service, I hugged David gratefully for the love he had given me. So it was not I who healed him, but the Love in him that did the work. When we are open and ready for change, love responds and Light flows into and through us, bringing about the transformation we seek.

My seven-year-old grandson understands this perfectly. He delights in creating “pictures” to give away, and alongside many of his colorful airplanes and butterflies are the words, “Love is in the air.”

In this cosmic sea of spirit, composed of energetic waves of thought and feeling, love flows through every person and event. I bring to you some gift of wisdom, a loving thought or touch, and you say something that enlivens me, perhaps opens my heart to a new understanding of us both.

This is what the Hindu mystic-poet Kabir meant in saying, “Sometimes we are a wave, sometimes the ocean. We come here to bring each other to God.” When we are calm and peaceful, we float restfully in the ocean of the OneMind, immersed in its expanded perspectives and at-one with its rhythmic flow. When we are disconnected, we break into separate waves, but even then we call each other back to the One.

Waves in flow with the ocean

What separates us from the OneMind and its peace, joy and fulfillment? It is always stress, fatigue, fear and distrust, tensing us into waves of rigidity and resistance. Many of us fear being hurt and shrink away from life, closing our hearts to the healing Love in and all around us. At times we feel cold and alone, perhaps rejected, abandoned, unsure and confused. But in truth, Love has not abandoned us. We have become oblivious to its presence.

This separation is why we so often feel lost and unhappy. The closed heart, by virtue of its separation, cannot be enriched by All That Is. The law of magnetic resonance, governing the law of attraction, cannot bring riches to poverty, nor peace and happiness to a conflicted bodymind trapped in anger or judgment. When we are experiencing inner conflict and are out of integrity with our souls, we feel a gnawing hunger, a thirst for what is missing, and usually try to satisfy this craving with love relationships, euphoric chemicals, career achievement and/or material possessions. Our busyness almost distracts us from the cold internal knot of separation, but not quite.

The only way back to the ocean of the OneMind is to open our hearts to the light and unfold, petal by petal, into our blossoming.

Nature shows us what to do, especially in the springtime. Out of dark, quiet winter comes a season of warmth and renewal. Brightly colored plants and flowers draw us to the wondrous life force swirling into the curve of a leaf, colorful patches of wildflowers and the light mint greens of budding trees. Seeing the magic of spring, we remember how the Creative Force sweeps into every thing: in sheets of rain upon a rushing river; the pealing laughter in a child’s perfect cartwheel; the sparkling spiral star-dance of our magnificent Milky Way.

Because of this visible and invisible evidence of love, I trust and believe what my inner wisdom tells me: that all waves come to empty our darkness so that Light can flow into the bodymind, enabling us to gently unfold and flower into lives of beauty and joy. Our inner wisdom whispers that each and every wave helps us grow and is called, by our nature, into being.

When we listen to our souls very closely, we hear that this is our dearest wish and the work that we came here to do. The open heart knows this and does it willingly, with excitement and gratitude, understanding its soul’s purpose and the ultimate meaning of life.

The secrets of an open heart

All the same, life is sometimes like a banana peel. It seems that everything conspires to trip us up, throw us off-balance and slide us down some slippery slope, whereupon we close our tender hearts for our own protection. How to open the heart, then, when it closes suddenly or over time?

STEP 1.  The most immediate antidote is to breathe and relax inside the remembered assurance that every wave comes out the OneMind and so must be a wave of love calling us back to Love. Knowing this, we breathe deeply and evenly, becoming perfectly present to the flow of air into the nose and back out of the mouth.

Your can deepen this relaxed, peaceful state of consciousness by counting breaths or following the wind of your breath into your diaphragm and back out of your body. Research has shown that focusing on the breath relaxes us, and focusing on two things simultaneously, like counting and the movement of breath, produces a deeper state of consciousness akin to meditation.

Another heart-opening technique, especially useful during conflict, is to close your eyes and focus on the space between your ears. Try this now, to see for yourself how this diffuses thought and relaxes the body. It works just as well when we focus on the space between the eyes or any two objects. Just as in a guided meditation, the act of imagining space shifts our brainwaves into the alpha bandwidth of vibration. This relaxed peacefulness neutralizes the patterns of overexcited, hyper-aroused physical tension that create most if not all illness and disease, according to neurofeedback research.

STEP 2.  When we repeatedly experience this meditative state of mind, we extend it into everyday life and are better able to stay united with the OneMind. We are less upset by our own thoughts and by external events, so we live happier, healthier, more balanced lives.

Rooted in the transcendent perspectives of the OneMind, we consistently respond to life peacefully and the heart is better able to stay open. When conflict comes up, we breathe, relax and allow that wave of thought energy to wash into and through us, neither holding on to nor resisting it. This is called peaceful, nonviolent non-resistance. We “hold our seats,” as Buddhism teaches and remain peaceful.

It is easy to do this because we know who we are. We are souls observing our selves and what happens in this earth plane for the sake of learning. We are not trapped here, but choose to be here. In this sense of choice and freedom rests fearlessness, courage and the ability to stay peaceful.

By remaining open-hearted, we stay connected with our soul’s infinite wisdom and its creative solutions. We understand how to respond–what, if anything, to say–because our inner wisdom prompts us. In the silence we are able to listen to, hear, feel, sense and see the transcendent perspectives of our open, loving hearts.

Our intuition is an inner knowing of spiritual truth. It expands us beyond the ordinary thinking mind into the transcendent sixth-sense perspectives of inner knowing, feeling, sensing, hearing and seeing. Going deeper within our souls, we observe that any and all negative thoughts are erased from our minds and replaced by a clear sense of direction. At the same time, the Light heals physical discomfort, pain, stress and fatigue.

Serenity through Forgiveness and Unconditional Love

======================================

STEP 3.  Sometimes our hearts are opened by another person’s kindly word, smile or touch, as with my friend David. Sometimes the opening occurs during a walk in the woods, as nature delights us and points the way home.

But what if someone is yelling at or demeaning us in some way that causes pain?

We can ask that person to please calm down so that we may listen better to what he or she has to say. If the person does so and we wish to listen, but nevertheless begin to lose our peace, we can draw our full attention to the heart and center the busy mind in the heart.

The energy of the heart will relax our thinking. We can open to the heart’s love and ask for the OneMind to help us flow into Love, so that this light circulates into every atom and cell of our bodies. Be assured that it will. This heart-centering will help us listen better to the other person and return love. By the law of magnetic resonance, the other person will attune to our energies and grow more loving.

This has been proved in experiments conducted by The Mind-Life Institute in cooperation with the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet. A Buddhist monk and veteran, 30-year meditator was placed in a room with a professor outraged by the idea of reincarnation. The man berated the monk loudly and to no avail. The monk listened placidly and did not flinch once; in fact, he was hooked up to electrodes and there was no “startle” response whatsoever. Finally the professor grew just as calm and willing to conduct a reasonable conversation.

Try this for yourself. Be the peacemaker and see what happens.

STEP 4.  We can keep our hearts open by freeing ourselves from judgment. The verbal thinking mind loves to name everything and remember similar situations that it then relives and discusses with itself. The ego says, “Aha, I recognize who this person is, because So-and-So was that way, too. This person is devious and dangerous.” Even if the ego is right, this judgment narrows our perspectives and our ability to clearly perceive the full truth about the other person, who, like us, is much more than what was done.

A single, solitary judgment triggers a volley of thinking that closes the heart, blocks inner wisdom and separates us from ourselves, the other person and God! Moreover, constantly reliving the past keeps us from being fully present to the now-moment and serving as a creative, shining light to other people.

The antidote is not to let the thinking mind name, categorize, judge and persecute anyone–us included. We can move the naming, thinking mind into silence by teaching it that no matter what comes up within us or in external reality–an angry person, the loss of a job, illness, the death of a loved one–it is a wave of experience that brings healing and growth. It comes to rid us of what is no longer needed and to evoke in us anything that might be missing. In the world of Spirit, nothing is lost. All is accounted for.

STEP 5. We can be at-one with goodness by keeping our hearts open, rejoicing in the beauty of the world and seeking something to love in every person we meet, including the derelict on the street who teaches us that this is not who we want to be. Even if we feel repulsed, we can look at this person closely enough to find something in him or her to love. Some facial characteristic, some trait…because if love is in the air, it is also in each of us, even at our worst.

Do we have to judge or detest that derelict? My inner wisdom says no, because this person has just given me the gift of knowing myself. I am grateful for that gift and can reach out to return love without needing or expecting appreciation.

In my experience, we come here to open our hearts and love ourselves, others and God. If we feel cold and aloof or separate and apart much of the time, there is a very good chance that our lives are cloudy and gray.

Do you have all of the love, money, happiness and peace that you want in your life? If not, check to see if your heart is open and joyfully aware of the abundance in each and every precious thing in you and your life.

If your heart is closed, you can open it easily with these mind-expansion techniques which enable us to become present to the present. In opening to Love, you will be enlivened by its joy and peace, so that everything you need and so richly deserve will come to you. All else will be pruned away, healed, to make room for fresh growth.

This is the simple and magical secret of life: You have within you all the Love needed to create and attract the life you want. Love calls you to shine your light, for love and love alone will heal our world.

If we stay peaceful, we can catch the waves of love upswelling in our hearts and ride them with perfect balance into our everyday choices and actions for economic parity, social justice and environmental responsibility.

To create a perfect planet of peace and love, all we have to do is remember that love is in the air. We can bring its Light into being with the thought of it, the need of it, the hope of Love that is it. In this wave is the spiritual awakening of our world.

What Color is Your Aura?

March 20th, 2009 Guest Author Posted in Healing, Spirituality, desire, energy field, energy vibrations, life energies, magnetic energy, psychic research, spirit energy, vibration No Comments »

Ever wondered about golden haloes around head of saints, gods or spiritually enlightened people shown in their pictures? It is called Aura.

Everything is made of energy & vibrations. That’s why everything has an Aura. Aura is an energy field that reflects the subtle life energies within the body. It’s a personal electromagnetic energy field around each of us shaped like Eggshell, It is a reflection of the body’s spirit energy. It reflects our health, mental activity & emotional state. It also shows disease - often long before the onset of symptoms.

Basic Aura looks like layer of Light covered body from 2-3 inches. But it can extend. You can see colors in extended part.

Psychics can see auras. Very young children can see aura spontaneously. Infants frequently look ABOVE a person in front of them. When they don’t like the color of the aura above the head, or if this color is much different from their parent’s aura, they cry, no matter how much smiling the person does.

Do you feel attracted or repelled to some person without even knowing them? It is because we can feel energy of other people’s aura subconsciously.

There have been various attempts to photograph the aura. Aura Photography was first experimented with by scientist Nicola Tesla in the 1890’s. (By the way Tesla invented system for electrical transmission- the AC (alternating current) system that we use in our homes today & DC (Direct Current) is Edison’s invention) The Soviet Union included Aura Photography in the psychic research conducted in the 1960’s. In 1975 The University of California at Los Angeles was able to measure Auras with great accuracy.

Semyon D. Kirlian a Russian technician was repairing equipment in a hospital when he noticed something unusual. He later found that through the interaction of electric currents and photographic plates, imprints of living organisms developed on film.

Kirlian and his wife developed the process in 1939. They call it the ” Kirlian Effect” (pronounced keer-lee-an) In the late 1940’s the Russians began serious research, but it was not until the 1970’s that Kirlian photography research began in the United States.

Kirlian photography involves the transferring of a high frequency charge through a metal plate attached to a Polaroid film camera base. The finger tips are lightly placed on the film which is encased in a light-tight bag, and an electric exposure is made. Sixty seconds later, after the film develops, the Kirlian photograph is complete and the subject’s energy field is revealed.

There are many different colored bands in a person’s aura.

Each color has significance on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. The color of the Aura is based on frequency (cycles/second) of light energy. For this reason, the Aura may, and often does, change color, as the movement of light particles in the auric field responds to external forces.

Meaning of colors :

Purple: indicates spiritual thoughts.

Indigo: The color of the seeker who has inborn psychic and intuitive abilities. It represents an astounding ability in the handling of practical matters.

Blue: Balanced existence, sustaining life, eased nerve system, transmitting forces and energy. People with blue strong point in their Aura are relaxed, balanced and feel ready to live in a cave and survive.

Green: restful, modifying energy, natural healing ability. All natural healers should have it. People with a green strong point in their Auras are natural healers.

Yellow: joy, freedom, non-attachment, freeing or releasing vital forces. People who glow yellow are full of inner joy, very generous and not attached to anything.

Orange: uplifting and absorbing. Inspiring. A sign of power. Ability and/or desire to control people.

Red: materialistic thoughts, thoughts about the physical body. Predominantly red Aura indicates materialistically oriented person.

Brown: unsettling, distracting, materialistic, negating spirituality.

Gray: dark thoughts, depressing thoughts, unclear intentions, presence of a dark side of personality.

Now do you want to see the Aura? If yes take this exercise:

1. Situate the person in front of a very softly illuminated PLAIN WHITE background. A color background will change Aura colors, so you need additional knowledge about combining colors. Some combinations of background and Aura colors may cause misinterpretation problems.

2. Choose ONE SPOT to look at. The middle of the forehead is VERY GOOD. This is a location of so called Brow Chakra or the Third Eye.

3. Look at this spot for 30 to 60 seconds or longer.

4. Resist temptation to look around. You should see that the background nearby the person is brighter and has a DIFFERENT color than the background further away. This is your own perception of the Aura. The longer you concentrate, the better you will see it. Remember, concentration on one spot increases your sensitivity by accumulating the effect of the Aura vibration reaching your eyes.

How to see your own Aura :

Stand about 1.5 m in front of a good size mirror. In the beginning it is best if the background behind you is plain white and there are no shadows. Illumination should be VERY soft and uniform not bright. Follow instructions above for seeing Auras.

PRACTICE for at least 10-15 minutes each day to increase your sensitivity and develop Auric sight. Remember that practice is required to develop Auric sight.

PS: Aura is very sensitive. That’s why sometimes it gets captured on normal cameras too.

Holiday Expectations

November 18th, 2008 Cheryl Petersen Posted in Healing, Law of Attraction, Life, Spirituality, forgiveness, happiness, imagination, love No Comments »

Imaginations can get tense during the holidays. Expectations wrestle in our minds and lives. Holiday traditions are jammed into already busy days. Instant gratification turns into regret. Debts are accumulated. Or sometimes, the imagination just shuts down and we slog through the holidays doing what other people are expecting of us. What if this season, a spiritual expectation can improve our experience?

A spiritual expectation is different from a worldly expectation. Spiritual expectations equal a productive developing consciousness. Worldly expectations are analogous to a frenzied or idle consciousness that can’t get out of itself. For example, if we expect a holiday party to give us joy, joy has just been reduced to time/space, excluding joy from many areas of our life. And, where is joy for those who weren’t invited to the party? What happens to joy if we get sick and cannot attend the party? How reliable is joy when we go to the party and have fun, but return home to dirty dishes?

Spiritual expectations are linked to that which is greater. If we expect joy from the sheer fact we radiate joy, we can be joyful whether we are getting ready for a holiday party or not. Aligning our thoughts with the metaphysical fact that joy precedes us—joy is found for others, is found now, at a party, and when we come home to dirty dishes.

Along with joy, spiritual expectations do not depend on any human event, season, or tradition. Admittedly, the holidays can be a grand time however that grandness can extend throughout the year when emanating from unconditional hopes. It is intriguing to improve our holiday season experience and then continue to feel the holiday spirit year round. However, this requires breaking away from the familiar, from the common beliefs of what we have trained ourselves to think about the holidays.

From 21st Century Science and Health the first English revision of Mary Baker Eddy’s Science and Health, we read, “The human mind is educated into selfish and sensualistic thinking as it constantly repeats the same thoughts to its self. If we are always talking about the body or persistently anticipating bodily pleasures (or even nervously expecting pain), we are being skillfully trained in the unspiritual. This education is at the expense of spiritual development.” Likewise, if we constantly expect temporary enjoyment, or even stress, during the holidays, our spiritual development is neglected.

Many people review their holiday experiences and strive to eliminate worldly expectations by improving their habits and rituals. Less time and money are wasted. More forgiveness and philanthropy is expressed. And, their happiness and security become more stable. A confidence is built up—a confidence that love and joy is found within consciousness, not in a particular holiday or gift or food.

Expectations can be powerful. What we are hoping is generally where our head and heart are being directed. Instead of expecting the holidays to bring good-will, peace, and joy, realize and act on the fact that good-will, peace, and joy will bring a beautiful holiday experience all year round.

The Law of Attraction, Television & You

October 17th, 2008 Richard Blackstone Posted in Law of Attraction, Spiritual Growth, Spirituality, enlightenment, fear, mind, universal law of attraction No Comments »

The law of attraction tells us that you bring into your life that which you put your attention on. The secret to life is to put your attention on what serves you and take your attention away from what does not serve you.

Does your spiritual growth come from the television? Does television spew forth spirituality information? We know it uses religion a lot to send its messages but is that the same as spiritual enlightenment? We often create a habit of watching television no matter what it is that we are watching.

We get into a habit of talking bad about others and ourselves and it just seems normal to us. Our environment seems to encourage us to play a role in life that has nothing to do with who we really are. We get feedback daily from the television that encourages us to make decisions that stifle our thinking and therefore our creativity. Our non-conformity conforms to the marketing plans that bombard us daily.

Hey, here’s a novel idea. Don’t turn on the television. It’s just an idea but think about it. The immutable universal law of attraction tells us that we attract into our life that which we put our attention on.

If you watch three to four or more hours of television a day you are putting a lot of attention on whatever it is that you are watching. If you just did this for one day it wouldn’t affect you much, but if you do this every day and maybe a little more on the weekends, then you can begin to see the cumulative effect that this has on the overall input into what you think.

Let’s just take one aspect of television and examine how it influences our lives. Remember these are just words. These are words that we are receiving through our physical sense of hearing with the addition of a visual context that adds emphasis to the overall message.

We are going to look at the national evening news. It doesn’t matter which network you are tuned to because they all say the same things. Every night we are subjected to the lead story, which is the most sensational story of the day. My dictionary defines sensational as: 1. Arousing intense interests 2. Intended to shock, thrill, etc. (Kind of sounds like a carnival show)

Let’s examine this daily input into our thoughts. The commentator has been carefully selected and programmed to create an image of fairness and trust. We are supposed to trust this fair-minded person who is relaying the news of the world to us in an unbiased way. That is the image that they all project to us.

We are lead to believe that they are doing us a great service by reporting to us the information, that puts into summary form, what has happened that particular day that they feel is important to you. Have they ever asked you what is important to you? Or are they trying to tell you what is important to you?

This is how subtle it is and how easy it is to influence collective thinking. Just the mere fact that you are listening to the news means that you are going to be influenced by the news. You may not have had a thought about being sick but the nightly news report tells you there is a national epidemic of the flu going around and, all of a sudden, you begin to wonder if you are going to get the flu. You feel fine but you now have a thought in your head that you might get the flu.

They take a commercial break and the first advertisement is for flu medicine. You didn’t have a thought in your head about being sick just five minutes ago but now you are thinking to yourself that you should probably get some flu medicine tomorrow. You are susceptible to the flu, the nightly news just told you the flu bug is going around and you were fortunate enough to see an advertisement for flu medicine.

The next morning you wake up with a sniffle. You tell yourself, via your thoughts, that you are getting the flu. You go to work and tell a co-worker that you have the flu and will probably miss work in a few days because that is how the flu works on you. Lo and behold, you develop more flu-like symptoms and you become so sick that you can’t go to work for a couple of days.

That’s how subtle it is and that’s how powerful our thoughts and words are. The flu example is bad enough but we are being fed much more sensational news than the flu bug. We are being fed huge doses of fear daily. Morning, noon, and night we are being told, via words on the news that we must live in fear of just about everything that is happening in the world.

We are told to fear the weather, fear earthquakes, fear the flu, fear the poor, fear our enemies, fear our school systems, fear foreigners, fear our food, fear children who commit crimes, fear the environmentalists, fear just about everything. This is the “news” that we subject ourselves to daily.

Now, I am not saying if this is right or wrong. I am only saying that in my observation this is what is so.

One final observation. I will let you answer this yourself since you are the only one who really matters here. Do you believe that the television news is based mostly in fear or in love? What is your answer?

Here’s the kicker question. “Does that serve you?”

Bible Scriptures Mirror Prosperity

September 15th, 2008 Janie Baer Posted in God, Meditation, Spirituality, abundance, bible scripture, bible scriptures, financial prosperity, mind, prosperity No Comments »

I want to start off with this Bible scripture: James 1:22-25 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. KJV

This Bible scripture shows us that bible scriptures are mirrors we need to be looking into every day and then we will see ourselves in this new life in Christ Jesus. We look differently in these Bible scripture mirrors then sometimes circumstances in our lives; because they reflect a whole new realm, the Kingdom of God, we are living in or should live in and out of as Christians.

Bible scripture prosperity manifests in our lives as we continue to look, not forgetting what Bible scriptures show us. That continual observing of the reflection of Bible scriptures will bring the revelation to our minds and then comes manifestation for all others to see. That is the power of the Word of God. First we have revelation and then we have manifestation. That is why the importance of meditation of Bible scriptures day and night as Joshua 1:8 tells us.

Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. AMP

So let’s get started on looking into some Bible scriptures that will show us in the prosperity of God.

3 John 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. KJV

Did you notice Father God wished above “all things” that we prosper first of all? This is speaking of financial prosperity. Father still wishes that you prospered above all things today.

2 Cor 8:9 For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His undeserved favor and spiritual blessing), [in] that though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied). AMP

This scripture is all about financial matters and not spiritual matters. Looking into this Bible scripture, we see Jesus became so very poor coming to this earth from a lavish Heaven so that we could financially become enriched abundantly supplied. So keep looking into this mirror and see yourself becoming enriched abundantly supplied then at the time when Jesus left Heaven for your prosperity.

2 Cor 9:6-11 [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. 7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving]. 8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

9 As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever! 10 And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]. 11 Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God. AMP

This is how the Kingdom of God operates, seed time and harvest. This allows the abundance of God’s grace to cause us to experience every favor and earthly blessing, possess enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance to continue to be a giver. Do you see yourself in the mirror of this Bible scripture? If not, then keep looking.

Gal 3:13-14,29 Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified); 14 To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit. 29 And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who is Abraham's Seed], then you are Abraham’s offspring and [spiritual] heirs according to promise. AMP

July 4th of every year the United States of America celebrates its independence from her mother nation. As Christians, we need to continue to look into this mirror of Galatians 3:13 and others that reflect back to us our independence from the law and from the curse of the law because of Jesus fulfilling that law of Moses and taking the curse of the law for our independence.

It might be good for you to go back and look at Deuteronomy 28 where the blessing that came by keeping the law and the curse coming from not doing the law are listed. Don’t pay any attention to the curse other than to give thanks to Jesus for fulfilling all of this Law of Moses so that you could experience through Him the blessings. Then your time, meditating on the blessing and see a reflection of yourself walking and living in the blessing. It will come upon you and over take you is the promise. I like to be overtaken by the blessing, don’t you?

Now that we are in Christ Jesus, Bible scriptures will reflect back to us being in the blessing of Abraham. We have the spiritual blessing of Jesus Christ and we have the financial blessing of Abraham.

This last Bible scripture mirrors us in prosperity provided for by Heaven’s blessings.

Eph 1:3 May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm! AMP

We must not be waiting on our financial prosperity any more. Every spiritual blessing contains your material blessing. All material things came out of spiritual substance. The spiritual blessing of your new birth was waiting on you just to receive it. Your financial blessing is waiting on you to see yourself in it and take it.

Let’s make this confession looking into the mirror of these Bible scriptures of prosperity:

I see from these Bible scriptures, I am blessed because I have the blessing of God and the blessing of Abraham, my Father of faith. I have received the spiritual blessings by Jesus and I have received financial blessings by Abraham. I will continue to look into these Bible scriptures, my mirror, reflecting back to me who I am in Christ Jesus, and I will not forget what I see. As a result of this I will be blessed in all I do.

My Father God wishes above every thing else in the earth that I prosper in my finances. My mind is prospering as I continue to look into the mirror of Bible prosperity scriptures. I therefore identify with Jesus’ sacrifice, leaving lavish Heaven and becoming so very poor so that I now am abundantly supplied in my finances. This is just part of my salvation that Jesus provided for me.

I will continue to remember the operation of the Kingdom of God’s financial increase comes by my generous giving. I do not give out of law but my giving will be as a result of a heart’s desire, being prompt, joyous and cheerful. Then I am expecting the results of the Kingdom of God’s guarantee of my Father’s grace and favor bringing earthly blessings to me in abundance. Then in all circumstances, I am assured I will be prospering so that I do not have to get any kind of aid or support, no kind of debt; but I am giving continually out of my abundance to every good work and needs of others. Then Father God provides more seed for me to sow and I get greater harvests. In the process Father provides my every need, and I continue to be generous and this brings thanksgiving to my Father.

Christ Jesus has purchased my freedom from the curse of the Law of Moses by fulfilling the law for me. In this liberty I am experiencing the blessing of Abraham. I also receive the manifestation of financial blessings that come from every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm through Christ Jesus.

These Bible scriptures bring liberty to me in my finances so I continue looking into them, seeing and experiencing the reality of them in my life.

Acquiring Spiritual Wealth Will Greatly Enrich Your Life

July 24th, 2008 Emmanuel Emezie Posted in Spirituality, infinite wisdom, jesus, negative thoughts, positive thoughts, prayer, spiritual knowledge, spiritual nature, spiritual principle, spiritual wealth No Comments »

Spiritual wealth is wealth that derives from knowledge. To gain spiritual wealth entails acquiring spiritual knowledge. Facts and information about the spiritual aspect of life are what constitute spiritual knowledge. Such facts and information include: facts about our spiritual nature and the purpose of our life; information about God and the role He plays in human affairs; facts and information on the way our spirituality shapes and orders human life and society; and information on the spiritual principles and processes that regulate our activities and influence the outcome of our pursuits.

We require these facts and information if we are to avoid groping through life guided only by our instincts and emotions. We need these facts and information if we are to perform at our full potential and so get the most out of life.

Let us now examine the many benefits a person will derive from acquiring spiritual knowledge.

Human ability is limited. So is our life span. Consequently, no one has the ability or the time to acquire knowledge and skill in all areas of human endeavour. And so each individual acquires training and then participates in a particular trade or profession. No human being can accomplish all things. If a businessman’s car breaks down, he will need a mechanic to fix it. And in the event that the mechanic falls ill, he will need to see a doctor for treatment. We need others and others need us. The sexes need each other in the domestic enterprise of starting and raising a family. It is an apt description of our situation when we say: “no man is an island”.

Clearly, we are a social species which is why we are constantly interacting with one another. The day begins at home with interaction amongst family members. At the work place we are involved with colleagues, superiors or subordinates. Here also, we have to attend to those who need our products or services and deal with those whose products or services we need. In between the home and work place we have to contend with other road users.

How skillful we are at relating to others goes a long way towards determining how happy and successful we are at home and at work. One of the benefits of acquiring spiritual knowledge is that it enables us to develop interpersonal skills.

Things do not always turn out happily or successfully in spite of our best efforts, individually or collectively. There have been instances where doctors have asked patients to go home and await death as nothing more could be done for them – medical science has reached its limit. In spite of impressive advances in modern medicine, sickness is still a major cause of untimely deaths. Technical faults, human error and natural causes have resulted in tragic loss of human lives in accidents involving the different modes of transportation. Our sophisticated early warning devices and protective measures have not always proved adequate in safeguarding us from natural disasters caused by floods, violent storms and earthquake.

Apparently, our limitations as human beings make us unable to cope with every situation or circumstance. On our own, we cannot always ensure our safety, welfare and the success of our pursuits. This is why humans, all through the ages, have instinctively sought to reach out to a power much greater than them to help ensure their well being. And the good thing is this. God created us with limited ability but in His infinite wisdom He has made His unlimited capabilities available to us.

Another benefit of acquiring spiritual knowledge is that it makes us able to access the unlimited powers of God through exercise of faith in Him. The dictum, “knowledge is power” clearly applies here. The spiritually enlightened individual is a spiritually empowered person.

Human beings have conscience which makes them aware of the choice they ought to make between right and wrong. This, in effect, means that some things we say or do are wrong and some things we say or do are right. A natural consequence of this is that human beings need to be discouraged from doing wrong and they also need to be encouraged to do good. Hence, wrongdoing usually attracts unpleasant consequences while the good we do usually brings us reward.

In fact, our criminal justice system conforms to this pattern. Punishment is meted out to wrongdoers to serve as deterrent. On the other hand, society, by way of encouragement, offers all manner of rewards and awards for those who contribute positively to the system. And this includes the wages or salaries we receive for doing even the most mundane jobs. A porter who helps someone carry their baggage will be rewarded with a tip. But if he steals a bag and is caught, the law will punish him.

And this brings us to yet another benefit of acquiring spiritual knowledge. We are moral beings and spiritual enlightenment enables the individual to attain a high moral state. In addition to being able to tell right from wrong, such a person will be very responsive to their conscience. This way, they will be able to avoid wrongdoing and its repercussions. Such a person will always strive to do good since they know that good deeds will, sooner or later, be rewarded.

It is said that “where there is a will, there is a way” and that “if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again”. But not everyone is aware of the amazing results determination and perseverance can produce in our efforts to realize our goals and aspirations. Human beings will be spared a lot of worries, doubts and fears if they are aware of the spiritual principle which provides that success will inevitably crown our efforts if we persevere in the pursuit of a goal and if we have faith in God.

Fidel Castro, the Cuban leader, is a man who has made it to the top. His view on what it takes to journey from the bottom to the top is noteworthy. He said: “It does no matter how small you are if you have faith and plan of action”. Awareness of the abovementioned spiritual principle is another important benefit we derive from acquiring spiritual knowledge.

Many people, at one time or another, may have experienced the situation I am about to describe. You have just gone through a bad situation and you are upset. Then someone says or does something annoying and you flare up and respond harshly. What this person has said or done is something you would ordinarily have overlooked but on this occasion you fly off the handle. Why did this happen? Here is the explanation.

The human mind is a creative device such that mental conditions tend to spontaneously manifest as observable phenomena. Any condition, image or vision we hold on to in the mind will, sooner or later, translate into physical reality. This is a natural creative process – the process that produces the awesome power of belief. The power of belief is a spiritual resource we can employ to achieve seemingly impossible feats.

This is what Jesus Christ, the great religious teacher, has to say about the power of belief: “If you can? Everything is possible for him who believes”. (The Bible, Mark 9:23). He did not mention this all-important concept only once. He touched on it again on another occasion. Hear him: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours”. (The Bible, Mark 11:24). Napoleon Hill, world-famous author of the book, Think and Grow Rich, expressed this concept very succinctly in this statement: “Whatever a man can conceive and believe he can achieve”.

And so we come to yet another important benefit a person can derive from acquiring spiritual knowledge. The spiritually enlightened individual is able to consciously employ this spiritual resource that is available to us to effectively deal with the difficulties and challenges we all have to face in life. By using affirmations, such a person will hold on to their dream because they know that an unstoppable creative process will ultimately cause their dream to become reality. Such an individual will also appreciate the need to always keep their mind clean by using positive thoughts to clear the mind of negative thoughts and emotions.

That spiritual knowledge is performance-enhancing and life-improving cannot be denied. But then the question arises: “Why is the quality of life of religious people not noticeably different from that of non religious people and the populace of religious nations are not better off than those of secular nations?”

The answer to this question lies in the fact that the quality of spiritual knowledge available to us thus far is poor. In the established religious teachings, a lot of the facts provided are not backed by proof and many of the beliefs propagated cannot stand up to rational examination. Unverifiable conjectures about existence beyond this life are professed as truths. In fact, fiction, misconception and superstition are being presented as spiritual realities. Obviously, knowledge that is so flawed cannot lead to any great benefits.

But here is cheering news. Quality spiritual knowledge is now available under the name, Spiritual Science. This is spiritual knowledge that has been obtained using the scientific methods of observation, experimentation and logical deduction. In scope and depth, Spiritual Science provides sufficient spiritual knowledge that will enable humans attain full spiritual enlightenment.

The opportunity to gain spiritual wealth and greatly enrich our lives has never been so good for the human race. We owe it to ourselves to get more out of life by acquiring this knowledge-based wealth.

Spirituality Information: The Case for Knowing Who You Really Are

July 21st, 2008 Richard Blackstone Posted in Spiritual Growth, Spirituality, abundance, albert einstein, creation of the universe, ego, feelings, health and harmony, intention, origin of the universe No Comments »

Your spiritual growth requires you to continually ask the question, “Who am I?” The spirituality information you obtain from this question will guide you to abundance, health and harmony.

This article deals with many esoteric aspects of the origin of the universe, so it is important that you are open and receptive to the information you are about to receive. I would like you to open your mind and open your heart before we explore these ideas and concepts.

I am going to ask you to suspend any judgments or preconceived notions you may have about the origins of the universe and just listen to the words and the ideas. Please don’t put any labels on these concepts or classify the ideas into categories. When you label or classify an idea you are limiting your perspective, and with a limited perspective you can’t see the whole picture.

We are looking for a broad picture here. We want to develop a picture that can be seen from all perspectives. This is the only way to see the truth of an idea. If you can view an idea from an unlimited number of perspectives and they all tell you the same story, then you are surrounding the idea with truth.

That is our intention. We, you and I, are going to co-create this experience of really seeing ourselves, perhaps for the first time, from a much larger perspective than we ever have before. This larger, all-encompassing perspective is going to open ourselves to the symmetry of this huge creation of the universe in a way that allows us to see our own lives with more clarity and understanding of our larger purpose.

Albert Einstein understood this concept of nonjudgmental thinking. He said “You can’t get any revolutionary ideas from using the same thoughts you have been thinking. You must change the way you are thinking and think different thoughts.”

Sometimes you have to be “out of your mind” or, at the very least, “out of your comfort zone” to truly evolve and change the way you expect your future to be.

So as we explore these ideas and concepts concerning why the universe was created in the first place and then, what our purpose is in that creation, it will be necessary to use all of our senses. Not just our physical senses but also our nonphysical senses. Please allow your nonphysical senses of intuition, altruism and feelings guide you as we begin our journey.

Even though I have asked you not to use labels as you interpret this material I am going to say that this information is “supremely important” in the ultimate understanding of who you really are.

It is in the knowing of who you really are that you will be able to liberate yourself from your own fears.

It is in the knowing of who you really are that you can throw off any limitations that you have placed on yourself and begin to live a life without limits.

It is in the knowing of who you really are that you can bring yourself into balance in the mind, body and spirit.

It is in the knowing of who you really are that you will actually incorporate the concept of unconditional love into your life.

It is in the knowing of who you really are that you will begin to create your life as you intend it to be.

It is in the knowing of who you really are that you will experience the utter magnificence of yourself.

It is in the knowing of who you really are that you can begin to understand what true freedom really is.

If this sounds (physical sense) or better yet feels (nonphysical sense) like the truth to you, then you have opened your mind and your heart as I requested at the beginning of this article. This frees you to receive information without judgment. This is critical because there is information out there that is going to make all the rest of your life make sense.

Synchronicity of Happiness

July 19th, 2008 Other Authors Posted in Healing, Spirituality, coincidence, happiness, spiritual courage, spiritual healing No Comments »

I was 3000 miles from home and had an afternoon book signing to do. My morning was free and so the last minute decision was made to go to a meeting on spiritual healing. Unfamiliar with the roads, I was at least 5 minutes late. Another woman was also late. Determination was on our faces. And it was half a year later before the woman, Hannah, and I realized we were determined to meet one another. The meeting was frosting on the cake. Experience and hindsight has taught us, it wasn’t a coincidence of events that brought us together, but a synchronicity of motives.

Our motives still are: to teach our children through love and understanding, to nurture spirituality in our work environment, and help others strengthen their sense of well-being. Hannah and I feel as though we have known each other forever. We can read each other’s mind. Obviously, significant motives are related to meaningful synchronicity. From 21st Century Science and Health, “Existence is happier when our motive is to entertain and form relationships with people who are striving to improve their inner self.”

People are not predestined to shallow relationships or a fickle happiness. We are realizing that we can chose an advancing goodness instead of accept declining joy. An effort is requisite. And it is important to understand what it is we are choosing. We don’t choose our fate. We chose the thoughts and actions that lead to an already existing end result. Hannah and I did not choose to get a friend. We chose to accept and express thoughts of spiritual courage, awareness, happiness, and healing. Because these thoughts are immortal, they are shared. Similar thoughts attract, coordinate, and embrace simultaneously.

A mathematician adds 2+2+2 and gets 6. If the mathematician chooses to get another answer, say 7, effort is needed for a change. Effort is not put into forcing 2+2+2 to be a 7. Effort is not put into inventing a 7 as if it doesn’t exist. Effort is metaphysical; discovering the correct numbers (thoughts) destined to be a 7. Most grand is the fact that there is no restriction in the process. The correct thoughts are not difficult or impossible to come up with. A few examples are 2+2+3, 3+3+1, ½+1/2+6……And the equation that works for someone else isn’t necessarily the one for you, but it will still produce a synchronicity of joy.

Improvement in happiness and health is not restricted to a few set thoughts and actions. Keep in mind the better thoughts that come to your mind. Do not focus on the outcome or try to take on the thoughts of other people. Love you own inspired thoughts.

We are individuals. What is improvement for me may not be improvement for you. I may need to entertain thoughts of patience; you may already have patience and think about flexibility. We each can meditate, receive, and act on immortal thoughts that improve our own situation. Furthermore, the improvement will unite us. Spiritual thoughts are very useful and meaningful. They originate in Love, Truth, and result concurrently in happiness and liveliness.

Thoughts based in fear and unawareness is predetermined to self-doom. Spiritual thoughts are completely different from the wired human thoughts. The two never work together and actually bring confusion. It would be like adding 2+2+a dead log.

To experience a coincidence of events is fascinating; however, a coincidence of spiritual motives is profound, expansive. Life includes happiness which is naturally shared. A synchronicity of spiritual motives will unite, improve, and genuinely impress us and our world. Existence does have meaning, an inspiring, health-giving, happy meaning.

The Serenity Prayer: Prayer for Empowerment Version

July 16th, 2008 Joann Posted in God, Spirituality, abundance, happiness, love, prosperity, serenity prayer No Comments »

The Serenity Prayer is one of my favorite prayers. I mistakenly thought this prayer is the St. Augustine’s Prayer. According to wikipedia it is commonly attributed to Reinhold Neibuhr, a theologian.

In this post, I have expanded The Serenity Prayer to make it a prayer for personal empowerment. There is nothing radical with my version, but some religion may not agree with it.

God grant me

The serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

The courage to change the things I can,

And the wisdom to know the difference.

God grant me

The sense to realize that with all your goodness and love for me, you cannot have planned for me to live in poverty and scarcity.

The sight to see that abundance is my nature and I am meant to live a life showered with love, prosperity and happiness.

The ability to speak so I can only say words of hope, love, joy, goodness and to affirm the abundance in my life.

The memory to always remember my dreams and aspirations amids the failures and frustrations.

Love so I can love myself and others.

Finally Lord, grant me

Forgiveness that I have not lived my life according to Your expectations despite bestowing me with the power to change a mediocre life.

Though I have the sense, it is easier for me to think that my mediocre life is Your will for me. And there is nothing I can do about it.

Though I have the sight, I have deliberately limited it to the reality of my situation.

Though I can speak, complaints are what come out of my mouth most of the time.

Though I have the memory of them, it is already dimming because I have chosen to believe that I cannot succeed instead of persisting.

Though You have already showered me with love unconditionally, I still cannot accept that I am worth loving.

Amen.

The first four lines of the prayer is The Serenity Prayer in the first person.

The Law of Attraction at Work

July 3rd, 2008 Ton Pascal Posted in Dreams, Law of Attraction, Life, Meditation, Positive Thinking, Spirituality, forgiveness, happiness No Comments »

What is this Law of Attraction?

You can check Carl Jung’s classic Memories, Dreams, Reflections for his view, but most contemporary psychologists agree that this magnificent power is transmuted into small things; day-to-day behavior, manners, the choices that we make in the ordinariness of daily human life.

This substance, force, or power is very likely a part, a very small part, of a larger enigma, inscrutable as it ever was.

The psycho-chemical organization of the simplest cell is far beyond our capacity to understand, even at our most advanced scientific labs.

How it is made, where it comes from, I will leave for someone else to answer.

What I know as a belief and from my own experiences is that this power exists and it is within you.

“We are not human beings going through a temporary spiritual experience.

We are spiritual beings going through a temporary human experience.”

I got this quote from a friend who didn’t know where it comes from either, but I feel that it illustrate so well the point I try to make on Dream Your Life Positively.

Each one of us have a point of view, an easier way to better his life. And it differs from person to person.

If you consider the time it took for this universe to form, this planet to spring up life, and men’s precarious and recent evolution, our life is very short.

My formula is very simple:

Think positively,

Break the rules,

Forgive quickly,

Kiss slowly,

Love truly,

Laugh uncontrollably,

And never regret anything that made you smile.

Napoleon Hill said, “a goal is a dream with a deadline.”

Start by training your mind to send out only messages of positive energy.

Do it as you take a shower, go for a walk or go to work, while you take a break or while you’re busy doing a task!

It will strengthen your daily self-improvement and will bring a new joy and sense to your life.

You will see the results immediately afterwards.

Acknowledge them, give yourself a pat in the back; yes, I am good.

Yes, I am successful.

But, be careful of what you think about! for example, have you thoughts ever begun with the following phrases:
I don’t understand…
I don’t want…
I don’t like…
I hate my…
I can’t figure out …
I’m stressed about…
I’m worried that…
I should be able to… but I can’t…

The Law of Attraction brings about what you focus on even if it is not what you want.

Get it?

What you show outwardly is what you are inside.

You want to be happy!

You want to be successful!

You want to be wealthy!

There is nothing religious about it, and no religion that is good for you should tell you that you cannot have it all.

You are stardust.

You are a fragment of God.

You hold the answer, and it has always been with you.

If you understand this principle, you know how to make the law of attraction work to support you rather than to act against you.

Have a wonderful journey

Forgiveness and Positive Living

June 28th, 2008 Ton Pascal Posted in Law of Attraction, Life, Meditation, Positive Affirmations, Positive Thinking, Spirituality, compassion, forgiveness, happiness, love No Comments »

“Forgiveness is the key that can unshackle us from a past that will not rest in the grave of things over and done with. As long as our minds are captive to the memory of having been wronged, they are not free to wish for reconciliation with the one who wronged us.” Lewis B. Smedes.

For over 20 years I carried a grudge, an anger closer to hatred of my own mother. I felt totally justified and was utterly convinced I had the right to express openly this anger against what I believed was my mother absence, lack of caring, love or any motherhood feelings toward me since the death of my father. In fact I drew my strength from these things to carry on with my life.

Only a few close friends knew about it and even when I started doing my relaxation studies I never thought this issue had anything to do with my search for mental harmony and the frustration of not being able to reach it completely.

My incessant moving around this planet from a country to another brought me personal and material satisfaction but left me with an empty feeling. Like a potted tree that hasn’t yet found mother earth’s ground in which to thrive.

When I decided to come back to Canada five years ago, little did I know that it would be the beginning of a journey which would take me back in time and reunite me with my mother.

My sister had arranged for us to meet and although I wasn’t too keen to do so I accepted. I was tense, arrogant and disagreeable when we met. As my mother tried to kiss me I pulled back and simply offered my hand for a handshake.

Her first words stayed engraved in my mind and heart for the days to come when she said, “All that I want is to ask if you could forgive me for not being the mother I wish I could have been, my son, I am so sorry…”
We met again a few days later and we talked openly about our pains, hurts, sorrows and expectations. It was the first time I saw my mother as a woman and as a human being; not as before, from a child’s point of view. My father’s untimely passing away at thirty two left a beautiful young widow of twenty six years old with four children, the youngest 25 days old to take care of, a few cattle ranches and a retail business in a male-oriented society. Having only an aging father and a younger sister in Brazil, she was alone and against all odds, she succeeded in raising her family.

Compassion and understanding gave me the strength not only to forgive her, but to forgive myself for the senseless pain I inflicted myself and the guilt it carries with it.

We became very close again, and slowly the whole family seemed to come closer and closer. I soon found out that forgiveness is a positive energy that spreads much quicker than I thought. I have nephews, nieces, cousins that are now a integral positive part of my life. A new route was opening on my path and the writing of Dream Your Life Positively came an year after.

A well documented site on this subject is “A Campaign for Forgiveness Research”* where I found some important examples cited here. Each time we witness an act of forgiveness, we marvel at its power to heal, to break a seemingly unending cycle of pain.

Forgiveness is something virtually all Americans aspire to. A Gallup poll nationwide survey, 94% said it was important to forgive, but it is not something we frequently offer. (In the same survey, only 48% said they usually tried to forgive others.)

Perhaps this is because forgiveness is something we don’t fully understand, or we associate forgiveness with weakness as Friedrich Nietzsche did.

Some view forgiveness as an almost saintly quality that blesses only the very special and most certainly cannot be learned. In fact, the opposite is true, forgiveness is a sign of strength. Research conducted at the University of Wisconsin in 1997 indicates forgiveness can be taught and with positive results.

When I told a friend of mine that if she wanted to find a healthier source of strength after her separation from an abusive husband, she must forgive him before she could find her own way to happiness. “After what I have been through with that bastard? When hell freezes over…” was her answer.

I suggested she try the three affirmations below for a few weeks and see if she still felt the same way.

- I am good, compassionate and I have now the strength to forgive.

- I deserve to be happy and successful.

- I am now ready to receive more love, support and wealth from the vast supply of the universe.

After two weeks of affirmations she told me that the most difficult thing was to think of him and all the bad incidents. The pain, despair and guilt would come back but she now understood that she wanted to be able to forgive and in her prayers she asked God to help her to forgive.

I knew then she had found her path.

According to Professor Douglas Kelley of Arizona State University West, the key to long-term conjugal bliss may be in how well a couple communicates forgiveness.

” Forgiving is not condoning; hurtful actions have consequences. Yet couples who communicate forgiveness may hold the key to stable marriages. What makes some marriages last a lifetime, while others falter and fall apart? These days the notion of equality, an eye for an eye, is prominent,” says Kelley. “That makes forgiveness counter-intuitive - but at the same time a lot of people who don’t call themselves religious or spiritual are forgiving one another. Is it because they sense that they will reap the benefits of forgiving for years to come, or is there some other motive?”

In the end, Kelley hopes that embracing and communicating forgiveness can provide a sense of well-being and stability for couples living in an increasingly stressed society.

Forgiving doesn’t change what has past, neither does it justify or makes it all right. It allows you to focus on your life from a pain free emotional state. The past no longer makes you cringe, cry or swear. Forgiveness simply helps you to let go of that negative baggage and makes a place for all the positive things you wish to have.

I know a lot of people who after a lover’s break up or a friend’s betrayal have vowed “I will never let anyone hurt me like that again.” It is quite justifiable, this is your survival instinct, a protective shield taking over, but be careful that this shield will also prevent you from connecting with new people and eventually making new friends.

This is a negative living, and most people are not even aware of it. Forgiveness is letting go of that negative emotional baggage and starting on a new path stronger than before.

It is very difficult, I know, to accept the fact that someone you loved and trusted, who have betrayed and stabbed you in the back, deserves your forgiveness.

When I lost a best friend of 25 years to what I thought was petty gossip, I was devastated and questioned the sincerity of her friendship all these years.

After forgiving her I can now look back and laugh at the good moments we had together. Sincerity is no longer a question, my love for her is the same, but I no longer need to see, speak or interact with her. Our roads just took different directions, that’s all.

Make an assessment of the people in your life, and the ones who are gone. What are your feelings about them? Is there someone you feel “I dislike (or hate) that SOB” either for personal reasons or because of malicious gossips? Or is there someone you distanced from and in your book is unforgivable?

You are carrying a heavy negative emotional baggage. Get rid of it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you want the good energy of a positive living to reach you.

An important, well documented and proven factor is that your anger, hurt and pain not only will affect the way you communicate with others, but eventually will exclude you from social contact. Your self worth is constantly being questioned and if you don’t take action it will eventually breakdown.

“Forgiveness allows one to overcome a situation that would otherwise be a major source of stress, both mentally and neurobiological. Forgiveness is thought to dramatically change the individual’s biological homeostatic equilibrium. He will assess the neurobiological response associated with forgiveness and unforgiving-ness.” Study of the Brain Functional Correlates of Forgiveness in Humans -Pietro Pietrini, M.D., Ph.D., Pisa – Italy.

Forgiveness benefits both, but you the most, because you left the negative baggage behind. You are now ready to receive the positive force, energy, love, wealth and success the universe have in store for you.
The other person doesn’t even needs to know, it is irrelevant. Neither do you have to bring that person into your life or closer circle any more. What matters is your thoughts and therefore your actions. If it is clean, clear and positive, so will your life, your friends and your future be.

“Forgiveness is both a decision and a real change in emotional experience. That change in emotion is related to better mental and physical health.”

Everett L. Worthington, Jr., Ph.D. Executive Director, A Campaign For Forgiveness Research.
From a decade-old grudge against the third-grade bully to deep-seated rage against a cheating spouse, millions of Americans harbor long-term grievances. Dr. Carl Thoresen, a professor at Stanford University, and his colleague, Dr. Fred Luskin, are exploring whether the unresolved anger that blights many people’s lives can be alleviated with the help of an age-old concept: forgiveness. Together, the pair launched a comprehensive research project: The Stanford Forgiveness Study. Thoresen and Luskin hope the impact of their work will be preventative as well as therapeutic.

“It’s our hope that family and school violence, including shootings, road rage, gang violence and workplace conflict will be diminished - if not avoided - if more people understand the role that forgiveness can play in interpersonal relations,” says Thoresen, “It takes courage and commitment to act in a more forgiving fashion. It’s not at all a sign of weakness but a mark of strength.”

Dr. Carl Thoresen is a professor of Education, Psychology and Psychiatry at Stanford University. Dr. Fred Luskin is a research associate at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention.

Have a great journey

Praying For What We Don’t Have

May 6th, 2008 Other Authors Posted in Spirituality, fear, helen keller, real health, stress, worry No Comments »

An old friend, Michael, wrote recently. He said he envied my life here in Bali, that he wished he had the courage to live similarly.

He wrote: I worry about finances, health insurance and all that crap. I wish I could free my mind of such things. Could I make ends meet?

Now, some of you reading this have taken the step that he’s afraid to take. You’ve broken out of some conditioning just to live – whether for a moment, a month or forever – outside of the culture in which you grew up.

And it’s all relative. For some, living in a different culture is easy, no challenge, doesn’t require courage. For others it’s huge.

Michael, like many people, has dug himself an early grave and he’s in it. Not buried. There’s still light. He could climb out anytime.

“I worry about finances and health insurance.”

He bought the package. Insurance companies make a fortune off the same fear that he’s living with. And let’s not be fooled, health care, real care, real health, is not their primary concern.

Regardless, there’s no benefit in demonizing the insurance companies. They’re simply doing what they do. Yet Michael is living his life two feet below the surface of the earth.

Of course it’s ‘normal’ to worry about such things. Lots of people do it. Yet what’s ‘normal’ is no better a barometer to what’s healthy or helpful than getting financial tips from a poor person. Worry is making him sick and poor.

I wish I could free my mind of all that crap, he writes.

‘Bullsh&*%t,’ I respond. If he wanted to free his mind he would. As the saying goes ‘try is a lie.’

A couple of examples: “I wish I could have a great job that’s creatively satisfying, lucrative and stress-free.” Some reading this will agree: ‘I do wish that.’ Others, those who have this already, know that it’s not a matter of wishing it – though of course we must vision it first – it’s a matter of creating it. Possible or impossible?

A more obvious example: ‘I wish I could pick up that glass of coconut water.’ A clear example? It really is like Yoda said: “there is no try. There’s only do and don’t do.” If it’s not obvious yet, try it out – try to pick up the nearest object to you. Don’t pick it up, just try.

I’m not saying that it’s always easy, or happens instantly (though it could). Someone might have to work hard to create his or her dream job. It might take them years. The point is not the time, the point is the possibility. Anything is possible. Realizing that we can do whatever we want instantly brings us out of early graves.

Creating what we want is as easy as changing our beliefs. We can do that in an instant. Yet for many of us, it takes courage and power, it takes some momentum, to break out of the constraint of our inheritance, our conditioning.

Of course I understand Michael’s worries. Most everyone has feared there isn’t enough money, even people who’ve had plenty of money their whole life (especially them). That’s the thing. It’s so universally accepted that there isn’t enough money, everyone’s highly susceptible to believing it.

It comes down to a fear that we won’t be secure. Here’s a news flash: WE’RE NOT SECURE. We never will be. There’s no such thing as security. Life is insecure. No matter what we do to protect ourselves, to guarantee our future, we’re vulnerable to change. A tsunami, an earthquake, a stock market crash.

Here’s a good news flash: there’s no security, and there’s nothing to fear. Isn’t it true? Doesn’t something always work out?

Here’s what Helen Keller said about it:

Security is mostly a superstition.
It does not exist in nature
Nor do children as a whole experience it.
Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run
Than outright exposure.
Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.
To keep our faces toward change and
Behave like free spirits in the presence of fate
Is strength undefeatable.

Michael wrote that he appreciated my response to him, that it was like a ‘summer breeze.’

Now what will he do with it. Snooze?

Whether he climbs up to create the life he wants or not, it’s a reminder for us. Is there something in our lives that we lie to ourselves about and say is impossible? Are we living below our potential (below the ground)?

Alarm bells are ringing. Sometimes it’s a summer breeze and sometimes it’s an earthen tremble. Either brings the question what do we wish to create. The answer is up to us.

A feng shui garden in 4 easy steps

Get a Feng Shui Garden in 4 simple steps.

Feng Shui! The mind boggles! Directions… a compass… the bagua… different interpretations- where to start- and to finish- in making sure you’ve got good Chi?

It’s my intention, in 4 easy steps, to help you create a garden that welcomes new Harmony, Prosperity and success.

How to do this? Simply, by putting in place the cornerstones of what good energy is attracted to in the garden. The basics of good feng shui can be created in 4 simple ways. From this base, feel your way to creating your own garden of personal taste and beauty. You’ll find Universal energy working for you and smoothing your path.

1. The original elements- Wind & Water

Any positive space has recreated the actual meaning of Feng Shui- wind and water. Indoors, this means there’s proper airflow in the home (wind) and there’s movement in every area- even regular dusting of an unused corner ensures that stagnation doesn’t happen. Water in the home means fluidity- that there’s nothing blocking up key movement areas, like things left in doorways.

Outdoors, a Feng Shui garden will be tapping the elements Wind and Water, too. Wind can be tapped literally by hanging a windchime, using a windmill, flying a flag or using a weather-vane. But more importantly, the symbol of Wind present will mean that every area of the garden has a purpose and is busy doing something, or is regularly tended. Water literally means that a fountain, water feature, pond, birdbath, sprinkler system or swimming pool has a place in every garden. And symbolically, there will be a flow to the garden- garden beds and paths curved or rounded, not square, or straight and sharp.

2. The Polar energies- Yin & Yang

Have you ever seen a Yin-Yang symbol? The balance of Yin and Yang underpins Feng Shui principle, and is essential to create an environment that continually attracts good chi.

Yin is the female- the dark, soft, evening energy. Yang is the loud, hard, bright, morning energy. Before we bring in a windchime or a water feature in, Feng Shui reminds us that the balance of the polar energies, Yin and Yang, is paramount.

I want you to think of your own garden, at this time. A balance of Yin and Yang means that you’d have a mixture of small and large plants; hot spots and shady corners, plants that thrive in the harsh climate here and softer ones which you nurture in a different space.

Only once you have your Yin and Yang in order, are you ready to use accessories or bring in new objects to create balance.

3. The Welcome Mat

By a welcome mat, we mean a clean, clutter-free environment. This is as relevant in the garden as it is indoors. We all know what a clean house entails. A clean garden is free of weeds and pests, as you deem them, and is neither too dry nor too wet. Hedges and bushes are neatly trimmed, borders are tidy, there’s no debris hanging around and accessories are neatly organized.

4. Positive Plants

There are three reasons why a plant can be considered good feng shui; you may divide Feng Shui plants, then, into 3 categories.

There are plants that, through symbolism, represent good fortune to the Chinese, whether by word association or image; 2, plants that absorb pollutants and/or electromagnetic radiation, and 3, plants which offer Sheng Chi, or good energy, with soft, round leaves, as opposed to those which create Sha Chi, or poison arrows, with sharp leaves or spikes.

The first category of plants offers good feng shui because of their meaning in Chinese culture. Fish in feng shui are a symbol of abundance because, in Chinese, the word is Yu, which sounds like a similar word for riches. Oranges and tangerines are given as gifts at Chinese new year because the words for these fruits sound like “luck” and “wealth”. So a plant may be considered good feng shui by association. This is the case with the Jade plant. It’s recommended to place a jade plant at every door to your home to invite wealth chi in and encourage it to linger longer. The ancient Chinese believed the jade plant to symbolize emeralds; hence it’s association with wealth to this day.

The second category of plants can be considered good feng shui for a more modern reason. Particular plants have been proven to be especially effective at absorbing pollutants and electro-magnetic radiation in an environment, and because of their abilities to transform negative to positive chi, these plants can be classified as good feng shui. Some of the most effective include:

• Peace lilies- which absorb toxicity and electromagnetic radiation (EMR)
• Date palms- they absorb xylene, which can be omitted by some art supplies and petroleum storage
• Ficus plants- absorb formaldehyde, which all interior surfaces and industrial areas omit; they’re especially good in offices.
• English Ivy- thrives in a spot of high earth radiation and a good absorber of EMR
• Baby’s tears, aka Irish Moss, an excellent de-charger, and you’ll feel your tension dissipate as you hold your hands over it’s soft leaves.

The third category of plants reason for being auspicious takes us back to the underlying principles of feng shui; creating a flow of positive chi. Feng Shui believes that negative energy is created in an environment through the presence of poison arrows- sharp corners, exposed edges and pointed objects. These sharp corners cut into positive chi and create friction. Hence, plants such as Cacti, with their spikes, and sharp-leaved varietals, are not considered good feng shui for the poison arrows they create. Conversely, all plants with soft, rounded leaves are excellent feng shui, such Banana or Rubber plants.

Outside, citrus trees are auspicious because of the fruit they bear. Plants with spiky leaves should be kept well away from doors to the home where they may “cut up” the positive chi that enters. In addition, every home seeking luck should have a bamboo plant- for bamboo

sounds like “prayer” in Chinese. Its flexible stalks also represent good health in old age, making it a welcome symbolic (as well as a low maintenance) gift to somebody elderly.

Not one of these three steps is rocket science; it’s almost obvious that to have a clean environment and healthy plants throughout garden will promote balance.

So, just to recap:

  1. Get your yin and yang- dark and light, in balance.
  2. Get your Feng- wind, or movement- and Shui- water, or fluidity- present.
  3. Make sure your garden is tidy and clutter free, and,
  4. Have the above-mentioned auspicious plants working for you.

With these priorities, you will be the proud owner of a garden which relaxes the eye and soothes the soul of all who enter. Now that’s feng shui in action!

Thoughts to Make You Feel Good

April 12th, 2008 Other Authors Posted in Ann Stewart, God, Healing & Forgiveness, Life, Mind & Its Power, Positive Thinking, Spirituality, happiness, mind, negative attitudes, negative thoughts, psalm 103, unforgiveness No Comments »

Are you bombarded with negative thoughts, feelings of inadequacy, and maybe even shame about the past? How do you feel?

Stop! Just for a moment stop and catch yourself thinking. Yes, catch your thoughts, as it were. Do you hear negative chatter about what you perceive others are thinking about you? Is it a one-way conversation, or are you in agreement? Are the not-so-good perceptions interspersed with feel-good kind of thoughts about yourself?

It’s good and very therapeutic to take yourself to task like this every once in a while. How your own thoughts influence you has an awful lot to do with your physical, emotional and even spiritual well-being!

Maybe you’re the tragic victim of a troubled childhood, constantly or often rehearsing all the hurt you went through. The constant replay in your mind may have led you to believe that bad things happened because you must have been bad as a child. Consequently, having heard those messages over and over again, by now you may be convinced that you do not deserve happiness.

But, God does not see you as you may perceive others are seeing you and how you see yourself! As the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed your hurt from you. Like a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear [show reverential awe towards]Him! In fact, He will even extend His righteousness unto your children’s children! (Psalm 103: 11-13; 17)

So you’re asking, what does all this have to do with health and nutrition? So much more than you may think! Your total well-being and physical health are all bound up together: mind, spirit and body.

You may be doing all the fitness exercises and taking all the vitamins in the world. However, if you allow past hurts, unforgiveness and offenses to control your life, you will continue to be bent over with the emotional baggage. Even though you may be smiling and gorgeous on the outside, the emotional strain will eventually take a toll on your physical health!

Take courage, my friend! All is not lost; there is hope! Negative thoughts will try to enforce a negative opinion of yourself and/or giving you perceived ‘permission’ to be negative and downhearted. However, those thoughts, or negative attitudes, can be broken! Once you recognize the kind of internal conversation you are regularly having with yourself, you can tell that ‘accuser’ to lay off! You now have uncovered the culprit and can make a decision not to associate with it any longer.

Choose to hang out with positive people and learn to find the good in both yourself and others. It may take a bit of practice and getting used to, especially if you’ve been in a rut for a long time.

God is not wrong when He says He loves you unconditionally! Allow Him to tell you how well you are loved. His Love will flow through you to others, and you will start feeling good all over.
