Manifesting with the Law of Attraction: Should you expect?

January 17th, 2009 Joann Posted in Law of Attraction, Manifesting, abundance, manifest, negative emotions, positive thoughts No Comments »

To expect something is to anticipate its arrival.  To activate the law of attraction, we should be in a state of being where we are fully confident that the moment we asked for it, it is already so. It is true that expecting is an expression of confidence of the realization of our desire because we are already looking forward to it. However,  it may work against you if its manifestation doesn’t come as scheduled. Remember that the law of attraction works with the natural process of things. Disappointment and frustration could result if it does not come as expected. These strong negative emotions and thoughts may well reverse your positive outcome if you dwell on it long enough.

Expecting can also be viewed as negative in that when we expect, we tend to constantly check if it is there already.  If you are confident that it is already given, why do you constantly check for it? I don’t think it is wise to recommend expecting for the result, especially for beginners or for those who have experienced failures with the law of attraction in the past. I think it is better to let it go and forget about it after sending out pure positive thoughts about your desire. And it will come with out fail.

Letting it go is the ultimate expression of your trust in the law of attraction. It means you are allowing your desire to be. So every morning spend 15 to 20 minutes feeling, affirming and visualizing your positive outcome, then let all thoughts go and forget about it. And instead of expecting for the result, spend the rest of your day in a state of joy, in things that bring you joy, and in appreciation for the abundance around you. You will soon find that the result has manifested when you least expected it.

Acquiring Spiritual Wealth Will Greatly Enrich Your Life

July 24th, 2008 Emmanuel Emezie Posted in Spirituality, infinite wisdom, jesus, negative thoughts, positive thoughts, prayer, spiritual knowledge, spiritual nature, spiritual principle, spiritual wealth No Comments »

Spiritual wealth is wealth that derives from knowledge. To gain spiritual wealth entails acquiring spiritual knowledge. Facts and information about the spiritual aspect of life are what constitute spiritual knowledge. Such facts and information include: facts about our spiritual nature and the purpose of our life; information about God and the role He plays in human affairs; facts and information on the way our spirituality shapes and orders human life and society; and information on the spiritual principles and processes that regulate our activities and influence the outcome of our pursuits.

We require these facts and information if we are to avoid groping through life guided only by our instincts and emotions. We need these facts and information if we are to perform at our full potential and so get the most out of life.

Let us now examine the many benefits a person will derive from acquiring spiritual knowledge.

Human ability is limited. So is our life span. Consequently, no one has the ability or the time to acquire knowledge and skill in all areas of human endeavour. And so each individual acquires training and then participates in a particular trade or profession. No human being can accomplish all things. If a businessman’s car breaks down, he will need a mechanic to fix it. And in the event that the mechanic falls ill, he will need to see a doctor for treatment. We need others and others need us. The sexes need each other in the domestic enterprise of starting and raising a family. It is an apt description of our situation when we say: “no man is an island”.

Clearly, we are a social species which is why we are constantly interacting with one another. The day begins at home with interaction amongst family members. At the work place we are involved with colleagues, superiors or subordinates. Here also, we have to attend to those who need our products or services and deal with those whose products or services we need. In between the home and work place we have to contend with other road users.

How skillful we are at relating to others goes a long way towards determining how happy and successful we are at home and at work. One of the benefits of acquiring spiritual knowledge is that it enables us to develop interpersonal skills.

Things do not always turn out happily or successfully in spite of our best efforts, individually or collectively. There have been instances where doctors have asked patients to go home and await death as nothing more could be done for them – medical science has reached its limit. In spite of impressive advances in modern medicine, sickness is still a major cause of untimely deaths. Technical faults, human error and natural causes have resulted in tragic loss of human lives in accidents involving the different modes of transportation. Our sophisticated early warning devices and protective measures have not always proved adequate in safeguarding us from natural disasters caused by floods, violent storms and earthquake.

Apparently, our limitations as human beings make us unable to cope with every situation or circumstance. On our own, we cannot always ensure our safety, welfare and the success of our pursuits. This is why humans, all through the ages, have instinctively sought to reach out to a power much greater than them to help ensure their well being. And the good thing is this. God created us with limited ability but in His infinite wisdom He has made His unlimited capabilities available to us.

Another benefit of acquiring spiritual knowledge is that it makes us able to access the unlimited powers of God through exercise of faith in Him. The dictum, “knowledge is power” clearly applies here. The spiritually enlightened individual is a spiritually empowered person.

Human beings have conscience which makes them aware of the choice they ought to make between right and wrong. This, in effect, means that some things we say or do are wrong and some things we say or do are right. A natural consequence of this is that human beings need to be discouraged from doing wrong and they also need to be encouraged to do good. Hence, wrongdoing usually attracts unpleasant consequences while the good we do usually brings us reward.

In fact, our criminal justice system conforms to this pattern. Punishment is meted out to wrongdoers to serve as deterrent. On the other hand, society, by way of encouragement, offers all manner of rewards and awards for those who contribute positively to the system. And this includes the wages or salaries we receive for doing even the most mundane jobs. A porter who helps someone carry their baggage will be rewarded with a tip. But if he steals a bag and is caught, the law will punish him.

And this brings us to yet another benefit of acquiring spiritual knowledge. We are moral beings and spiritual enlightenment enables the individual to attain a high moral state. In addition to being able to tell right from wrong, such a person will be very responsive to their conscience. This way, they will be able to avoid wrongdoing and its repercussions. Such a person will always strive to do good since they know that good deeds will, sooner or later, be rewarded.

It is said that “where there is a will, there is a way” and that “if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again”. But not everyone is aware of the amazing results determination and perseverance can produce in our efforts to realize our goals and aspirations. Human beings will be spared a lot of worries, doubts and fears if they are aware of the spiritual principle which provides that success will inevitably crown our efforts if we persevere in the pursuit of a goal and if we have faith in God.

Fidel Castro, the Cuban leader, is a man who has made it to the top. His view on what it takes to journey from the bottom to the top is noteworthy. He said: “It does no matter how small you are if you have faith and plan of action”. Awareness of the abovementioned spiritual principle is another important benefit we derive from acquiring spiritual knowledge.

Many people, at one time or another, may have experienced the situation I am about to describe. You have just gone through a bad situation and you are upset. Then someone says or does something annoying and you flare up and respond harshly. What this person has said or done is something you would ordinarily have overlooked but on this occasion you fly off the handle. Why did this happen? Here is the explanation.

The human mind is a creative device such that mental conditions tend to spontaneously manifest as observable phenomena. Any condition, image or vision we hold on to in the mind will, sooner or later, translate into physical reality. This is a natural creative process – the process that produces the awesome power of belief. The power of belief is a spiritual resource we can employ to achieve seemingly impossible feats.

This is what Jesus Christ, the great religious teacher, has to say about the power of belief: “If you can? Everything is possible for him who believes”. (The Bible, Mark 9:23). He did not mention this all-important concept only once. He touched on it again on another occasion. Hear him: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours”. (The Bible, Mark 11:24). Napoleon Hill, world-famous author of the book, Think and Grow Rich, expressed this concept very succinctly in this statement: “Whatever a man can conceive and believe he can achieve”.

And so we come to yet another important benefit a person can derive from acquiring spiritual knowledge. The spiritually enlightened individual is able to consciously employ this spiritual resource that is available to us to effectively deal with the difficulties and challenges we all have to face in life. By using affirmations, such a person will hold on to their dream because they know that an unstoppable creative process will ultimately cause their dream to become reality. Such an individual will also appreciate the need to always keep their mind clean by using positive thoughts to clear the mind of negative thoughts and emotions.

That spiritual knowledge is performance-enhancing and life-improving cannot be denied. But then the question arises: “Why is the quality of life of religious people not noticeably different from that of non religious people and the populace of religious nations are not better off than those of secular nations?”

The answer to this question lies in the fact that the quality of spiritual knowledge available to us thus far is poor. In the established religious teachings, a lot of the facts provided are not backed by proof and many of the beliefs propagated cannot stand up to rational examination. Unverifiable conjectures about existence beyond this life are professed as truths. In fact, fiction, misconception and superstition are being presented as spiritual realities. Obviously, knowledge that is so flawed cannot lead to any great benefits.

But here is cheering news. Quality spiritual knowledge is now available under the name, Spiritual Science. This is spiritual knowledge that has been obtained using the scientific methods of observation, experimentation and logical deduction. In scope and depth, Spiritual Science provides sufficient spiritual knowledge that will enable humans attain full spiritual enlightenment.

The opportunity to gain spiritual wealth and greatly enrich our lives has never been so good for the human race. We owe it to ourselves to get more out of life by acquiring this knowledge-based wealth.

5 Key Ways to Attract Abundance and Prosperity

June 25th, 2008 Julie Plenty Posted in Law of Attraction, Manifesting Abundance, abraham hicks, abundance, money, peace of mind, positive thought, positive thoughts, prosperity, prosperity affirmations No Comments »

When you hear the words “abundance” and “prosperity”, what immediately comes to mind?Is it money, fulfilling relationships, a lovely house to live in, peace of mind, a career/vocation that expresses your gifts?

It may be all or none of those things. It may mean something else to you. But if you want to attract more prosperity and abundance into your life, no matter how you define them, then this article outlines 5 key ways to do so.

1. Understand Attraction Law

This is better known as the Law of Attraction, as defined by Abraham Hicks, states that “you attract whatever you give your attention and energy to, whether wanted or unwanted”.

So, if you’re curious about what you’re putting out there, look at what you are attracting, the visible results in your life. Knowing about and working with the the Law of Attraction will help you in manifesting, creating and attracting more abundance and prosperity in your life.

Once you understand it, there’s no turning back.

2. You get what you focus on

One of the key concepts in the Law of Attraction is that you get what you focus on, whether that be money, relationships, employment etc). So when you focus on having less, that is the experience you create for yourself.

Saying that “I hate my job” will just draw even more attention to the aspects of the job that you don’t like. Even if you look for another job, it’ll be with that negative energy.

Just wanting something isn’t enough, because you will still continue to think about what you don’t have. Always focusing on what you lack means that you don’t see the present and future opportunities, or begin to realise your true desires. You’re getting in your own way!

3. Clear your head

……….to allow you to focus more effectively. Our minds are full of “stuff”; old, tired and limiting beliefs, which don’t reflect who we are now, or who we want to become.

Set aside quiet time for yourself on a regular basis to get real clear about what you really want to attract in your life. Use this opportunity to ask yourself questions.

Ask yourself: “how can I create more prosperity and abundance in my life?”. Once your head is clear, you will allow the answers to come to you. Meditation is a great way to start clearing the mind.

4. Appreciate life’s abundance

Appreciating life’s abundance is another way to opening yourself up to accept more abundance and prosperity in your life. When you fully appreciate what you have in your life, the Universe has a way of giving you more.

Keep a gratitude journal and at the end of each day, write down everything that you appreciate in your life. You’ll begin to change your energy and vibration and become more internally aligned with what you want to create in your life.

5. Use prosperity affirmations

As you write your gratitude journal, it is an opportunity to write down prosperity affirmations as well. Affirmations are statements of acceptance that you use to manifest your destiny or what you want to create in your life. They are powerful, positive thoughts and words sent out to the universe.

If you want to use affirmations to create positive changes in your life, then you must first BELIEVE that this is possible. It shouldn’t be a half hearted “well, I’ll give this a go and see what happens”.

To make affirmations more effective, put as much positive energy in writing and saying them as possible. Visualize what you want to create and let this inform your prosperity affirmations.

When you cease operating from a position of lack, you start to create the fertile conditions to make more informed decisions, identify greater opportunities and attract more abundance and prosperity into your life.

Practice Positive Self Talk and Affirmations

March 24th, 2008 Other Authors Posted in Affirmations, Dreams, Mind & Its Power, Personal Development, Sheri Falcone, affirmation, positive affirmation, positive self talk, positive thoughts, prosperity, self image, self worth, success No Comments »

Practicing self talk means giving purpose to your positive reinforcement, motivation and recognition. This is the same talk you would give a friend so be kind and give it to yourself. Congratulate yourself when you have a success and remember all your abilities, accomplishments, strengths and skills. I suggest you make yourself an accomplishment board or journal and record all your successes — both small and large. Review your progress periodically and acknowledge where you have gone and keep an eye on where you are still going.

Use your self talk as a tool for success. Make it work for you. What you repeatedly say to yourself has a profound impact on your self worth and performance as well as eventual successes. Remember that your subconscious records all your thoughts and triggers physiological responses to match the images and thoughts you have of yourself. Make this work for you by keeping your self talk positive and reinforcing it with positive affirmations. For example, I did a great job on the research project my boss asked me to do. The research gave him the valuable information he needed to make an informed decision. I enjoyed doing this research and look forward to being asked again. My work is done in a professional manner and informative and complete.

As well as keeping your thoughts positive, it is imperative that you stop the negative chatter. Your mind records the negative chatter as easily as it does the positive talk. Your subconscious believes your negative chatter when it is repeated in your mind over and over. If you catch yourself using negative chatter, stop and rephrase what you said in a positive manner. Eliminate the negative words. Focus on using positive terms and affirmations.

Make your positive self talk and communications an everyday habit. A habit is created if you do something 21 days in a row. It is truly a very short time to focus and create a habit of ensuring positive self image. Try making small changes in your vocabulary. Substitute the phrase “I will try” with “I will”, or “I should do” with “I will do”. Try saying “I want or desire to” or “I choose to” instead of “I must”. “I can” instead of “I can’t”. Just the shift in some of our common terminology makes a huge difference in our subconscious and self image. Watch what you say during the day and see how many words that you say have a negative connotation to them. Learn how you can rephrase those statements as you acknowledge them.

Focus your positive thoughts with affirmation statements. These are the reminders that will help you achieve your goals and success. They are the positive mental sticky notes that will motive your mind to work for you instead of against you.

Here are a few tips on how to use the powerful affirmation tools as mental reminders. * Use personal statements. Use “I” or your own name. * Keep your statement short, sweet and to the point. * Phrase your statements in a positive way. Remember the mind accepts the truth as it is worded. Use only positive words — leave out the negatives. I.e. I will not be late for work today vs. I will be on time for work today. * Use a positive emotion in your statement. This excites me or I feel wonderful. Positive emotion strengthens the affirmation. * Phrase affirmation statements as facts instead of a wish. Complete your statement as if the goal has already been attained. Your mind believes mental messages and works to make them a reality even if they are not right now. * State your affirmations at least 6-8 times during the day. Start by waking up with a positive thought, in the shower, brushing your teeth, driving to work, taking a lunch break, before going into a meeting, cooking dinner, getting ready for bed. There are literally hundreds of opportunities throughout the day when you can think of a quick affirmative thought. It is very important to start and end your daily with positive affirmations. It sets the tone for the day and closes the day with a positive thought. Repetition is the key to habit. Repetition enhances self confidence and stimulates your mind to help achieve your goals.

I cannot emphasize enough the power self talk and positive affirmation statements can have upon the quality of your life. They propel you towards your goals that you have identified and desire to accomplish. Even if you work hard every day, without goals, your life is without direction. It is like a ship without a rudder sailing aimlessly through the seas.

Use these powerful tools of positive talk and positive affirmation statements to help speed and direct you toward your dreams and desires.

7 Effective Ways To Implement Positive Thinking

March 19th, 2008 Other Authors Posted in Affirmations, Dr. Susan Jeffers, Personal Development, Positive Thinking, affirmation, fear, gratitude, intention, mindset, money, negative thoughts, physical manifestation, positive thoughts, subconscious mind No Comments »

Somehow it has become ingrained in us that negative thoughts are more realistic than positive thoughts. This is pure madness, especially since over 90% of what we worry about never happens!

We have to get our heads around the fact that being positive is actually far more realistic than being negative. This is such a difficult concept for most of us to grasp, and we have to purposefully work hard to re-train the brain to think more positively.

Think of it this way: if your body became out of shape you would probably view physical exercise as an effective way to improve its condition—and we must begin looking at the health of our mind in the same way.

Here are 7 valuable exercises that you can start implementing right now to re-train your thinking:

1. Use Verbal Affirmations EVERY Day

An affirmation is a positive statement that something is already happening, and is a very powerful tool you can use to shift your internal dialogue from negative to positive. Come up with a few statements like “I am creating a beautiful day” or “money and success flow to me” and spend 10 minutes every morning (and every night for extra credit) saying them aloud.

Come up with statements that make the most sense for you, and be sure to state them in the present tense, and in a positive form. This is self-talk in its highest sense, and can be very effective.

2. Use Positive Language

When it comes to the language we use, world-renowned author and lecturer Dr. Susan Jeffers says: “It doesn’t matter if we believe the words or not, the mere uttering of them makes the subconscious mind believe them to be true. It is as though the subconscious mind doesn’t know what is true or false, it doesn’t judge, it only reacts to the language that is being fed”.

Many researchers have shown this sentiment to be quite valid, and we must intentionally start using more positive language to shape the worldview of our subconscious mind.

3. Create a Vision Board

A vision board is the physical manifestation of the life you want to be leading. Find images of the house you desire, the places you want to travel, and the job you crave to work and tack them to a corkboard! Be creative and place words and images that are accurate expressions of your inner-most desires.

Constantly add to your vision board put it somewhere you can see it several times a day– even spend a few moments visualizing what it would be like to be living in this life you created. Isn’t this a better way to spend time than in your usual stress mode?

4. Surround Yourself with Positive Images

They could be famous quotes, inspiring pictures, or even your affirmations that you write out on note cards. The point is to always have physical reminders of things you deem positive close by. Print these items out and place them by your desk, near your bed, and in the car! When you get stressed out, give a glance to them and you will begin to get perspective on things and your mind will re-focus!

5. Say “Thank You” 50 Times a Day

Every night before you go to bed, spend 5 minutes saying thank you out loud for the experiences you had that day: the people you interacted with, the work you accomplished, the food you ate, etc…As you do this, really try and feel the gratitude emanate from within.

You can also say thank you 50 times in the morning and get yourself in an extremely grateful mindset for the coming day. These are wonderful practices for becoming more positive!

6. Listen to Inspirational Talks and Music in the Car

The car is the perfect place to flex your muscle of positive thought! Because many of us spend a lot of time driving, make an effort to listen to music that inspires you and makes you feel good. Purchase motivational personal development CD’s and play them while driving.

I mentioned Dr. Susan Jeffers above, and I recently listened to her CD “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway” in my car three times in a row! Have your car become an oasis of learning and start using the time constructively.

7. Use Positive Thinking While Exercising

If you consistently exercise, this is an excellent time to practice your positive thinking. Say to yourself over and over again: “I am strong and durable” or “I am fast and powerful” and notice the immediate affect these utterances have on your workout. It is absolutely incredible how just saying these words increases your stamina and strength.

By implementing the recommendations in this article, you can literally begin to out talk your chatterbox! With practice, negative patterns of thought will transform to consistent positive thinking.

Even though you may begin to feel better quickly, positive thinking is a life-long pursuit and it is necessary to dedicate to this ”way of life” over the long-haul. Do not get complacent, or the negative chatter box will re-appear…and you don’t want that!

Your Mind It Matters

January 22nd, 2008 Other Authors Posted in Mind & Its Power, desires, mind over matter, positive thoughts No Comments »

Did you know by conquering your fears you can turn your dreams into reality? Get anything you want in life by simply unleashing the full powers of your mind!

Do you believe in your heart that you can attain anything? You can if you allow your mind and heart to believe you can! Only you have the power – the power to mold your personality, the power to shape your future according to the lifestyle you wanted to live, and the power to create your destiny.

Think about it, no one can shape you but you! Have you ever thought about how powerful you truly are? Maybe, you are capable of achieving, accomplishing and attaining your heart’s deepest desires – just by allowing the hidden powers of your mind break free from fear!

I stumbled upon a book title “I Can. Therefore, I Will! Unleashing the Full Potentials of Your Mind” that taught me how to do just that! I learned to train my mind how to create positive reality through positive thoughts.

One of my favorite quotes says, “If you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”

I have no doubt, that I can accomplish anything if I put my mind and heart into it. You can do the same. The only problem is that many people do not know how to use their minds to their best advantage.

Is there any instance in your life that you refuse to do a particular job, say joining a beauty contest or singing in front of a crowd, because you think you cannot do it? Recently while on a cruise, I attended karaoke night and to my amazement, there were people with good singing voice but plenty with not so good singing voice. What made them sing those with not so good singing voice?

Simple, they thought they could sing and that is all that truly matters. My opinion is just that my opinion and they did not care about my opinion. Their mind told their heart they could sing.

You are at the starting line and the finishing line right now. Whether you choose to run the track, determines your strength.

You have not started the competition yet, but you have already lost because you did not make an attempt.

That is true! Losing is not about being able to win; it is more about not trying. Therefore, the moment you say ‘no’ to something, it is just as bad as giving up and accepting your failure. As long as you run, the race is what counts not what position you place.

Success is not always achieving your goal, or winning award; rather, it is getting up after you have fallen and never losing hope to finish what you once started.

“When at first you do not succeed, try, try again”. Really, there is no harm in trying.

The harm is not believing in you can – deciding you are worthless and insignificant!
When you do not believe in yourself – what you can be or what you can do – then you having thoughts such as I am not good enough, or I cannot really do that.

The mind is powerful. Once these thoughts enter your system, they will turn into reality!
You see live or death, good or evil, right or wrong, I can or I cannot are only two choices which one you choose is what you will believe.

Fill your mind with positive thoughts and it will fill your heart with courage that will fill your life with love, joy, peace and happiness.

Take back control of your mind’s unlimited power, you will be able to handle complex situations, solve tough problems, think of new ideas, improve your decision-making capabilities and become more confident like never before!

From the book titled “I Can. Therefore, I Will: Unleashing the Full Potentials of Your Mind”. I listed some essential things you need to know about the human mind and how to utilize its extraordinary abilities to the extreme!

Here is some of the information you will find inside:

How the mind becomes an empowering agent.

The relationship between the left and right brain.

How new things and challenges help in training the mind for positive thinking.

How positive are positive thoughts. How negative are negative thoughts.

If empowerment is not simply giving authority to someone or something, then what is it?

The reason behind the story of two brothers whose father is drunk – one becomes an alcoholic and the other becomes a professional.

The two types of thoughts the mind generates.

Why our minds should focus on the brighter things in life.

How the mind becomes unbiased towards any impression.

Why we should prefer the positive power of thinking rather than the negative one.

The difference between mind and matter.

How our mind does what our five senses cannot perform well.

And much, much, more!

The power to achieve your dreams is all in either the way you think you can or you cannot! Having the right knowledge and application, you will achieve and overcome all of lives obstacles, destroy anxiety and insecurities from you past and finish the race you started toward success.

Remember the proper use of your mind, focusing on the task and accomplishing your goal will be a snap.

The holidays are just around the corner this book will make a great gift. You can empower yourself and loved ones by getting a copy of “I Can. Therefore, I Will”.

Seven Tips to Become a More Positive Thinker

January 18th, 2008 Other Authors Posted in Positive Thinking, act of kindness, compassion, emotion, emotions, experiences, positive feelings, positive thoughts, smile No Comments »

Have you ever noticed how good things happen to good people? There’s no mistake here. These people didn’t just “get lucky” but instead were proactive within their lives as opposed to simply reacting to things as they occur. They created the experiences they have beginning with the thoughts they think. How does this work?

Positive thoughts lead to positive feelings. These feelings lead to positive emotions. These emotions then promote positive behaviors. Finally, the positive behavior creates positive outcomes. In applying these steps to a real example, it may look something like this.

Let’s say you’re thinking about how nice it will be to spend some quality time with someone you love. Just thinking about the time you’ll spend makes you feel good. Maybe you’re feeling content, loved and happy. Those feelings lead to positive emotions such as love or joy. When you’re experiencing emotions such as love or joy, you’re more inclined to behave in a way which is in line with those feelings. Maybe you’re more supportive, loving or compassionate as a result. Because you’re more supportive or compassionate, you have more to give and behave in a manner which is conducive to showing your compassion. You may be more inclined to say or do something nice to someone, simply because you feel good.

Your random act of kindness (whether through words or deeds) may just be what the person on the other end needed. Maybe they were having a difficult day and your kind word or gesture enabled them to gain a better perspective and turn their day around. The immediate outcome may be that you’ve helped another person smile, feel valued or appreciated. The more extended outcome is that they now experience more positive thoughts which then turn it into a feeling, emotion, behavior and the cycle continues.

This entire scenario all came from just one of your positive thoughts! We have millions of thoughts throughout the course of a typical day. If more of them were positive, can you see how powerful this can be?

So if becoming a more positive thinker is on your to-do list, here are a few simple ways to begin.

1.Retrain your negative thoughts. For every negative thought you have, counter it with something positive. For example, “I’m so fat” can be countered with “I’m making healthy changes every day.”

2.Show gratitude. Here’s where you acknowledge, validate and appreciate all that you have. You recognize how blessed you are and show appreciation for all that you have and see.

3.Read positive quotes/books. Get ideas and inspiration from gurus, teachers and mentors. Learn how others create a positive outlook and get ideas from them. Also, learning from others can show you how they’ve managed difficult situations. It’s a great way to learn how they’ve turned obstacles into opportunities and used adversity as a learning tool or stepping stone to achieve something better.

4.Surround yourself with positive people. Just as how laughter is infectious, the positive thoughts, emotions and feelings from others can be infectious too. Besides being more positive, these people are also much more pleasant to be around.

5.Believe. Believe you can be a more positive thinker. You will or won’t become a more positive thinker based on your belief that you can or can’t.

6.Laugh. Not only does laughter feel good, but it’s good for your health. Studies show that laughter promotes the release of “feel good” chemicals within your body which helps to strengthen the immune system. What a funny reason to lighten up!

7.Control your thoughts. While you can’t control many things, you can always control your reaction to them. That means that an unfortunate situation can be either a minor bump in the road or a complete devastation…it’s up to you.

This holiday season, there will be many opportunities to become angry and upset or enlightened and enriched. The choice is always yours but as long as you do have a choice, why not choose to become a more positive thinker. By helping yourself you never know just how many other lives you may touch as a result.
