How Big Is Your Dream?

A Vision without a task is just a dream.

A task without a vision is just a job.

A vision with a task can change the world.

Today we celebrate the life of a great man, a man whose dream changed the lives of millions of people and, indeed, the course of our entire world.

Martin Luther King’s message of freedom, peace and equality for all people is as pertinent today as it was 45 years ago.

But what I find even more important than his message is his ability to firmly hold onto his dream of equality even in the midst of oppressive segregation, prejudice and violence.

When exploring the Law of Attraction, we often talk about “contrast:” For instance, how do you hold onto a feeling of abundance when, in “reality” you are saddled with debt and wondering how you’re going to pay your rent?

Well, Martin Luther King is a brilliant example for us to emulate. He held onto his dream while living in the contrast. Even as he looked around with his eyes and saw a reality of violence and segregation and hatred and prejudice, deep in his heart, he knew that one day, his dream would become a reality. He knew that we would overcome, someday.

And Martin Luther King Jr. gave that dream to us. He gave us what Neale Donald Walsch calls the Grandest Version of the Greatest Vision he had ever seen.

And while he spoke some of the most eloquent words ever spoke, it was not his words that conveyed the dream: It was the feeling. He knew that this dream could be made real. He felt it. He believed it down to the very core of his being.

If you have not seen his “I have a dream” speech, click the play button below and watch it now. It is one of the most powerful and inspiring speeches ever. It will be well worth the 17-minutes you spend watching it.

But even as you’re listening to the words, go beneath them. See if you can sense the energy, the passion, the conviction with which he holds his dream. Because, remember, everything is energy, and we attract our dreams through a vibrational process.

Listen, especially near the end of his speech, how his voice takes on a vibrato that seems to sing the truth of his dream. He is there, living his dream, even as he stands in a reality that is, seemingly, a long way away from the dream.

So on this day, when we celebrate the life of one of our world’s biggest dreamers, I ask you, “What is your dream?”

What is the Grandest Version of the Greatest Vision you’ve ever had for your life?

Now do not fall into the trap of comparing your dream to Martin Luther King’s. Not all of us are meant to carry such dreams, and the weight of responsibility that comes with them.

But neither is anyone meant to give up their dreams. And that is what far too many people have done. They have given up their dreams because others have told them, throughout their lives, that they can’t have what they want. They have been told to “play it safe.” They have been shot down when they tried to soar. And they have learned that there is no sense in dreaming.

But on this day, when we remember and honor the grand dream of a brilliant dreamer, take some time to remember your big dreams.

On this day, when we pay tribute to Martin Luther King, one of the most skillful Deliberate Creators in recent history, remember that you are the creator of your life. You are dreaming your life into existence right now.

Vincent Van Gogh said,

“I dream of painting then I paint my dream.”

Martin Luther King dreamed of freedom for all people and then he began painting that dream.

What are you going to dream? What does your dream look like? What does it feel like?

Only when you know your dream, can you then begin painting it.

So start dreaming! Dream big. Dream bold.

And then begin living into that dream. Because dreams do come true. But for that to happen, you must take the first step. You must begin painting your dream, living your dream.

Only you can make your dream come true!

So begin today.

What’s Happening With Mind Movies?

By the time you read this, I’ll be halfway through the Enlightened Warrior Training Camp! And while I certainly would not want to miss this life-changing experience, I would sure love to see the craziness that’s probably happening right about now over at the Mind Movies website!

7 Ways To Get A Positive Start On The Day

How do you start your day? Is your first act intentional? Is it a reaction to something? Or is your first act of each completely random?

As a Deliberate Creator, every conscious act matters. And one way to get every day off to a great start is to make your first act of the day intentional. So here are a few suggestions that you might want to consider for your first conscious action of the day.

Smile: You’ll be amazed at how powerful that one act can be at setting the tone for your day. Do it no matter how tired you are, no matter how little sleep you got, no matter how much you’re dreading some aspect of your day. Smile. I love this quote from Thich Nhat Hanh: “Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.” When you think of something that brings you joy, a smile is likely to come naturally. Remember that a smile can brighten a person’s day. And if you wake up with a smile, it just might be your day that gets brighter.

Think of something joyful: Maybe you feel strange putting a smile on your face for no reason. (If you do, stop it!) But one alternative is to think of something that brings you joy and let that thought bring a smile to your face.

Think of your primary intention: What is the single most important intention that you have right now? How would your day change if your first thought upon arising was a positive thought about that intention?

Look at your primary intention: Remember Jack Canfield’s story in The Secret? He taped a “$100,000 bill” to the ceiling above his bed so the first thing he would see every morning would remind him of his primary intention. You can do something similar. Come up with an image, object or phrase that reminds you of your intention and tape it to the ceiling or place it beside your bed. And each morning, make sure your first act is looking at it and feeling it.

Send a positive thought to someone else: Sending a prayer or other positive thought to someone is a wonderful way to start your day. In order to send positive vibes to someone else, your vibration must be positive. So starting your day this way ensures that your vibration will start out positive.

Give thanks for what you have: One of the best ways to empower your day is to begin with gratitude. Instead of allowing your mind to jump to all the stuff you have to get done that day, intentionally guide your mind to focus on and express gratitude for all the wonderful things that you already have.

Say I love you: If you share a bed with a partner (and even if you don’t) one great way to set a positive tone for your day is to say “I love you” to them (or someone else) before you even get out of bed.

These are just a few suggestions. Any one of them will help you set a positive tone for the entire day… If you do it!

Use this classical vocal technique to accelerate your Law of Attraction work

Luciano PavarottiIn your work with the Law of Attraction, do you ever find that your ability to attract your desires is a bit “flat?”

Well when I was studying classical voice (yes, opera!) I learned a technique that I have recently been applying, with great success, to my Law of Attraction work.

When I began my vocal training, I had the annoying tendency of starting a note slightly flat and then sliding up to the correct pitch once I could “hear” myself singing it. During one of my early lessons, my instructor said, “Hear the pitch you want to sing as you breathe in and then sing it out on the exhale.” In other words, as I was inhaling, I was already thinking, hearing and feeling the note I wanted to sing before I actually made a sound. It was a very powerful technique that helped fix my pitch slide.

As a Deliberate Creator, you can use this exact process to empower your intentions. Breathe in what you want and then breathe it out into reality. Obviously it does not – usually – work as instantly as it does when singing a certain note. But it most definitely works.

Just as a singer breathes in the exact pitch they want to sing, hearing and feeling it resonating inside of them before singing it out into the world, we breathe in our desires by seeing, hearing and feeling them resonating inside of us before we breathe them out into physical form.

When my instructor first shared this technique with me, it didn’t seem to make a difference. I was thinking the correct note, but I was still sliding up to pitch once I starting singing. But one day my instructor had me hum the pitch very softly as I was breathing in. That soft hum made the note come alive for me. And soon after that I no longer needed to hum the note to truly “hear” and feel it inside of me before actually singing it out into the world.

And the more I practiced this technique of breathing in the pitch before breathing it out, the better I became at it. My pitch became quite accurate and I almost completely eliminated that annoying pitch slide.

And likewise, the better we become at breathing in our desires – seeing them, hearing them and feeling them clearly inside us – before breathing them out, the better we become at the process of attraction.

So if you are finding that what you are attracting is slightly “off pitch,” or that you are “sliding” into your desires rather than hitting them right on, consider using this technique to empower your attraction. Breathe in the desire, see it and feel it resonating inside of you and then breathe that desire out into physical form.
