Money Matters

February 15th, 2009 Heart Projects Posted in Catherine Ponder, Energy, Law of Attraction, abundance, currency, gold, money, opportunities, prosperity, visualization No Comments »

MONEY

My bet is that just seeing the word “Money” big and bold triggered an emotional response in you. Take a second to think about it. What was your first reaction? Was it a flashback of someone telling you that money is the root of all evil; that money doesn’t grow on trees; that you have to work hard to get it; be dishonest or take unfair advantage of someone else? None of these are probably what you “think” about money. Honestly, most people’s thoughts of money are that they want more (and I’m talking a whole lot more) of it. But the challenge is, if what you are thinking and what you are feeling are not a match, your feelings will win out every time.

It should not surprise anyone that money is such an emotionally charged matter, because money is essentially energy. Money is currency, or in other words, a current that flows from an exchange of talents, services or actions. However, the feelings of fear and negativity are co-creators of the barriers that build up and substantially slow or stop the natural flow of currency, money or abundant energy, into our lives.

Here’s a tool that may help you “feel” differently about money. In her classic book, “The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity,” Catherine Ponder tells the story of a salesman whose standard response to the “How’s business” question was always “Business is wonderful because there’s gold dust in the air!” And for him there was. Because he said it was so, each contact resulted in sales and people always remarked of him, “Everything he touches turns to gold.”

Everything you touch can turn to gold, too, if you “see” the gold dust that is in the air. Take a few moments several times a day and simply visualize gold dust surrounding you…well, like the air you breathe. Have fun with this. Feel its vibrant energy cascading over you, softly grazing your hair, faintly brushing your cheeks, covering your clothing, and collecting in your hands and at your feet. Squish it between your fingers. Wiggle your toes in it. Roll around in it. Make gold dust angels! Then when you are truly in that golden state of abundance, feel yourself overflowing with gratitude as you thank the Universe for your bounty.

Visualizing gold dust in the air allows you to accept the truth that wealth and abundance are accessible to everyone and that there is an unlimited supply of it. No one has to lose out. As a matter of fact, abundance is your birthright. It is the way life was meant to be experienced. You don’t have to work HARD for money, take advantage of anyone else, or be evil to get it. Figuratively, all you have to do is open your hands (or a very large trunk) to collect whatever you want. See yourself doing just that and expect golden opportunities to open up for you. Expect that gold nuggets of wisdom to newfound wealth will be revealed to you, and they will.

Using Flowers To Bring Calm And Prosperity Into Your Life

February 6th, 2009 Guest Author Posted in Chi, Energy, Feng Shui, abundance, clutter, feng shui tips, financial harmony, good fortune, home feng shui, richness No Comments »

One of the nice things about summer is the richness of the colors of flowers that are abounding. Daisies, lilies, roses, petunias, and so much more. Even the most cynical among us is touched by the burst of colors.

Many people mistakenly think that plants and flowers are just something nice to look at. A female thing. If you’re thinking that way, you’re missing some of the most important benefits of plants and flowers.

Studies have shown that lots of green leafy plants help calm you and help relieve depression. This in turn helps you focus better and think more clearly. May be it has to do with the oxygen they give off?

Similar studies show that just looking at flowers reduces stress. The scent of flowers is also calming. Lavender is especially known for it’s calming qualities.

In Feng Shui, flowers are said to strengthen family harmony and keep the flow of affection in all directions. When you get deeper into feng shui, there are different energies produced by placing certain colors in certain areas of your home.

Green leafy plants in the entryway draw good energy into the house.

If you have a lot of arguments in your house, you may have too much chi energy in your home. Feng Shui suggests putting plants in rich black soil in the south portion of your home to calm things down.

Bathrooms in the south part of the house are believed to increase your chances of getting sued. Feng Shui prescription is to decorate with tall plants and wood.

Yellow flowers are said to have healing qualities in general. When you place them in the center of your home they keep you centered and balanced.

For financial harmony, surround yourself with red flowers.

Fruit bearing branches represent abundance and good fortune. To keep the berries from falling off longer, scrape the bark off the bottom of the stems before putting them in water so that more water flows up to them.

One of the hottest decorating trends this year is to put single buds in small juice glasses. Place them across a mantle or shelf, or at everyone’s place at the dinner table to keep things calm. Think that will look good in my Pokemon Welch’s jelly glasses?

Or how about a prosperity centerpiece?

1. Place a presoaked floral foam cylinder on a plate. For a small centerpiece, use a 4 inch cylinder.

2. Spread a little of that moss stuff around the bottom edge, or cover the bottom edge with a piece of yellow or red ribbon.

3. Cut your red or yellow (or combination of both) roses to 3 inches long. For the small arrangement, you will need 4 nice sized roses. Push them, evenly spaced, into the top floral cylinder.

4. Now fill in with flowers, leaves, and berry branches.

5. Stick a candle in the center.

For best energy giving results, use fresh flowers. (But Michaels has a 50% off sale on silk flowers pretty often too.)

If you’re looking for some fresh ideas for your gardens outside– here are more feng shui tips-

* Purple flowers planted in the south part of your garden increase passion. Petunias are a good low maintenance choice.

* Deep red flowers planted in the west part of your Garden bring success in business. I have red lilies, of course.

* Creamy white flowers planted in the north part of your garden (not the north side of your house) quiet anxieties. I like either lilies or fragrant roses.

* Ferns and grasses planted in the east part of the garden keep you feeling fresh and vitalized. I have Yucca. Not exactly a fern, actually it’s an evergreen, but I like it.

Next year I want a cutting garden so I can enjoy the benefits of flowers even more!

And for you men reading this thinking, I don’t want to mess with flowers…. I’ve known many manly men who have put together great gardens. My grandfather and my next door neighbor are two of them. And what about that funny guy who does the gardening show on HGTV? I love that show!

Whether indoors or out, and whether you believe in such things as feng shui, working with plants and flowers really is therapeutic. It can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you want. It can be a large project, or a very small one. It can be in any colors. Get creative!

Gardening is not only a good mental exercise, it’s great physical activity too.

And then kick back in your easy chair with the beverage of your choice and relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

TIP - How important is a clean house?

According to Feng Shui -

The kitchen is the soul of the home. It feeds and nourishes not only your body, but your spirit as well. Keeping it clean and uncluttered keeps a healthy flow of energy.

Even worse, dust stops the flow of good energy. The act of dusting your home renews your energy, invigorates your spirit and stimulates your optimism. (Plus it can help you lose weight )

How Big Is Your Dream?

January 19th, 2009 Edward Mills Posted in Deliberate Creation, Dreams, Energy, Inspiration, Intentions, Law of Attraction, Personal Growth, contast, deliberate creator, feelings, martin luther king, vision board No Comments »

A Vision without a task is just a dream.

A task without a vision is just a job.

A vision with a task can change the world.

Today we celebrate the life of a great man, a man whose dream changed the lives of millions of people and, indeed, the course of our entire world.

Martin Luther King’s message of freedom, peace and equality for all people is as pertinent today as it was 45 years ago.

But what I find even more important than his message is his ability to firmly hold onto his dream of equality even in the midst of oppressive segregation, prejudice and violence.

When exploring the Law of Attraction, we often talk about “contrast:” For instance, how do you hold onto a feeling of abundance when, in “reality” you are saddled with debt and wondering how you’re going to pay your rent?

Well, Martin Luther King is a brilliant example for us to emulate. He held onto his dream while living in the contrast. Even as he looked around with his eyes and saw a reality of violence and segregation and hatred and prejudice, deep in his heart, he knew that one day, his dream would become a reality. He knew that we would overcome, someday.

And Martin Luther King Jr. gave that dream to us. He gave us what Neale Donald Walsch calls the Grandest Version of the Greatest Vision he had ever seen.

And while he spoke some of the most eloquent words ever spoke, it was not his words that conveyed the dream: It was the feeling. He knew that this dream could be made real. He felt it. He believed it down to the very core of his being.

If you have not seen his “I have a dream” speech, click the play button below and watch it now. It is one of the most powerful and inspiring speeches ever. It will be well worth the 17-minutes you spend watching it.

But even as you’re listening to the words, go beneath them. See if you can sense the energy, the passion, the conviction with which he holds his dream. Because, remember, everything is energy, and we attract our dreams through a vibrational process.

Listen, especially near the end of his speech, how his voice takes on a vibrato that seems to sing the truth of his dream. He is there, living his dream, even as he stands in a reality that is, seemingly, a long way away from the dream.

So on this day, when we celebrate the life of one of our world’s biggest dreamers, I ask you, “What is your dream?”

What is the Grandest Version of the Greatest Vision you’ve ever had for your life?

Now do not fall into the trap of comparing your dream to Martin Luther King’s. Not all of us are meant to carry such dreams, and the weight of responsibility that comes with them.

But neither is anyone meant to give up their dreams. And that is what far too many people have done. They have given up their dreams because others have told them, throughout their lives, that they can’t have what they want. They have been told to “play it safe.” They have been shot down when they tried to soar. And they have learned that there is no sense in dreaming.

But on this day, when we remember and honor the grand dream of a brilliant dreamer, take some time to remember your big dreams.

On this day, when we pay tribute to Martin Luther King, one of the most skillful Deliberate Creators in recent history, remember that you are the creator of your life. You are dreaming your life into existence right now.

Vincent Van Gogh said,

“I dream of painting then I paint my dream.”

Martin Luther King dreamed of freedom for all people and then he began painting that dream.

What are you going to dream? What does your dream look like? What does it feel like?

Only when you know your dream, can you then begin painting it.

So start dreaming! Dream big. Dream bold.

And then begin living into that dream. Because dreams do come true. But for that to happen, you must take the first step. You must begin painting your dream, living your dream.

Only you can make your dream come true!

So begin today.

And, in case you have not heard, President elect Obama made a call to service on this day. If you want to answer that call, if you want to have a task to go with your vision of a better life and better world, here are two websites with information:

Learn to Balance Your Chakras

November 14th, 2008 Edward Mills Posted in Energetics, Energy, Healing, Personal Growth, chakras, energetics of attraction, human energy systems No Comments »

Everything is energy.

I’m sure, by now, you’ve heard that phrase. This is not just some new age, woo woo platitude: Scientists have shown us that, at the atomic level, everything that appears solid is mostly empty space, or energy. In fact, your body is over 99.9999% empty space.

And because everything is energy, it just makes sense that awareness of that energy is a critical component of your success as the Deliberate Creator of your life. That is why I created the Energetics of Attraction Digital Learning Course. It provides you with powerful knowledge and practical tools for integrating the Human Energy Systems into the framework of the Law of Attraction.

But because it is a foundational level course, I provide only a basic overview of the chakra system. I do have a full chakra course planned for early next year. But what can you do if you’re ready to jump in and learn more about the chakras now?

Sonia Choquette - Chakra BalancingWell, the DailyOm has an opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business. Sonia Choquette is a unique and extraordinary spiritual teacher, intuitive guide and masterful catalyst whose special gift is to energetically activate the highest vibration and free the authentic Spirit in everyone she meets. She is a NY Times bestselling Author and #1 Amazon.com bestseller and has also been a personal Intuitive advisor to such New Age Leaders as Louise Hay, Julia Cameron, Caroline Myss, Dr. Wayne Dyer, pop icon Billy Corgan and consultant to international business leaders.

The DailyOm is offering Sonia’s 10-week Chakra Balancing course for just $39.

When your chakras are healthy and clear, your life flows smoothly. When any one of them is sluggish, shut down, or its vibration is weak, the imbalance can show up as a physical symptom affecting a particular area of your body, or as an emotional or psychological symptom affecting your outlook.

And when one or more of your chakras are out of balance, your ability to attract and manifest your desires dramatically decreases.

With the Balancing Your Chakras on-line course, you will first come to understand the nature of each chakra. Second, you will learn how to tell if any of your chakras are in need of attention, and third, the course will show you simple behaviors you can do to work with each chakra to bring your life back into harmonious and healthy flow. The result is that you will start to feel more confident, energized, and peaceful-at every moment in any situation.

Some of the topics covered in this course include:

  • Detailed information about each of the 7 chakras
  • How to determine which chakras are need of help
  • How to work with each chakra to bring your life back into harmonious and healthy flow
  • How to balance your chakras
  • Healing mudras for each chakra
  • Corresponding colors and tones for each chakra
  • Real life challenges we all face and how to use chakras to help
  • How to read chakras
  • Chakra exercises and visualizations
  • 22 video clips that give you practical and in depth information how to work with your chakras

If you are ready to amp up your ability to attract your desires, this chakra balancing class is a great resource. Go check it out.

And if you’re interested in more specific information on how to integrate energetic awareness into the Law of Attraction, go sign up for the Energetics of Attraction Digital Learning Course. I’ve got a Recession Busting 1/2 off sale happening right now!

My Halloween Treat – A Lesson In Giving From My Daughter

November 3rd, 2008 Edward Mills Posted in Energy, Personal Growth, daughter, fear, giving, halloween No Comments »

Halloween Pumpkins

I hope you had a fun and festive Halloween. My daughter, Ella, was a Forest Fairy this year. She was pretty darn cute (and I’m not biased in the least!)

And I’m pleased to say that she still seems to enjoy giving out candy to the kids who come to our house more than getting the candy when we go trick-or-treating. We’re not a big candy-eating household, so it’s nice to see that she is happy to give the stuff away.

But on a deeper level, it’s nice to know that she still intuitively understands the joy of giving, of flowing energy out into the world. And she truly is flowing energy out, both in the form of the candy (remember, everything is energy) but also in the form of the sheer joy and passion that she brings to her job as official candy hander-outer! There is some serious energy flowing out of her when she jumps for joy each time she puts a handful of candy into a bag!

And her happiness is contagious. There were four adults hanging out watching her and all of us were smiling and laughing with her as she ran to the door each time she heard another group coming up the front steps.

Even most of the serious and normally aloof high school boys, dressed up in their blood-stained, scary-faced costumes could not keep a straight face as they saw this little ball of joy running to greet them, not scared, not put off by their costumes, but giggling with joy as she gave them candy.

What a beautiful and rich reminder she gave us all. How true, and how easy it is to forget, that joy is shared when giving is done with an open heart.

And in this environment, when so many people are focusing on holding on tighter to what they have, it is an incredibly important lesson!

What can you give away today? What can you do to send a message to the universe and to your own immensely powerful subconscious mind that YOU are full? What type of energy can you offer to the world today?

Most people are focused on what is leaving their lives. Most people are focused on how they can hold onto what they have.

If you can go against that flow and focus on what you can share, what you can give away, you will be one of the few who is truly able to leverage the laws of the universe to attract more of what you desire in this time of fear, scarcity, and lack.

So today, perhaps right now, ask yourself what you can give. It could be as simple as sending a loving thought to someone you know, or sending out a thank you note to someone in your life.

Take time today to flow energy out into the world and let yourself remember what it feels like to be open, to share, to let go of the holding. Release your grip on what you have and focus on what you can share.

You will immediately feel the difference!

How to Meditate like Goldilocks

October 4th, 2008 Dr. Rebbie Straubing Posted in Energy, Healing, Inner Guidance, Meditation, meditate, meditation practice, meditative state No Comments »

If Goldilocks were to leaf through a few meditation books, she might find some approaches to be too hot, others too cold. But soon enough, we know she’d land on a system that feels “just right” to her. She always does.

Meditation is Like Porridge

When you take your first taste of meditation, it is good to follow your inner guidance. Too hot? Too cold? Find an approach that feels “just right” as it offers you a bridge from your every day state of mind into the clarity, awakening, and healing you seek.

Scattered Mind

In our ordinary state of mind, we rapidly alternate our focus between what is wanted and what is not wanted. This creates static in our vibration. When you focus in such a way that increases the split in your energy, you feel worse. When you deliberately select a focus that brings you into alignment, you feel better.

The more you become like Goldilocks, the more you can clearly tell which technique feels too hot, which one’s too cold, and which one is “just right” for you. The more you follow your inner guidance, the more easily and swiftly you can bring yourself into a deep and beneficial meditative state.

The Missing Ramp

Most people give up their meditation practice (or never even begin) for one reason. This reason takes many forms but there is really only one reason. It may feel like “I don’t have the time.” Or it may show up as “I don’t really understand how to do it.” It may even look like “I try but I fall asleep.”

All these obstacles to meditation are the same at their root. They may look different, but they are all evidence of something missing. The thing that is missing is a ramp.

Your mind is functioning at one frequency and meditation asks it to function at a completely different frequency. When you sit down in your everyday mental pace and ask yourself to jump levels with no ramp, you may be asking the impossible of yourself.

But when you have a ramp, you can do it. When you have a simple way to reliably move from the rhythm of your everyday mind into the rhythm of meditation, you advance rapidly. You begin to reap the benefits of meditation that usually take years and years to achieve.

Aligned Mind

A physical ramp will get your car from one level to another, but what kind of ramp will elevate your mind? The ramp that brings you comfortably into meditation is built of inner alignment. And just like Goldilocks, who knows a good ramp when she sees one, you will know you have achieved a shift in your vibration when you have found your inner alignment. It feels “just right.”

Here is an exercise you can do right now to begin your inner alignment. Try this before you meditate and see if it changes the experience for you.

1 – Sit with your spine upright and close your eyes.

2 – Imagine a vertical beam of light running through your spine. It extends infinitely above your head. It also extends below you through the center of the earth and beyond.

3 – allow your muscles to relax and let this beam of light call your spine to a relaxed and powerfully upright posture.

4 – On each in breath, feel your breath begin at the base of your spine and let it rise through the beam of light to the top your head.

5 – On each out breath, feel the breath and the light expand outward to fill your whole body. Feel it illuminate and cleanse your physical cells as well as your energy body.

This simple process of beginning your alignment with the vertical axis offers many benefits:

· It brings you into greater awareness of the now.
· It promotes healing.
· It heightens your sensory awareness so that you have more joy in your human experience.
· It augments your insights and talents.
· It increases your natural abilities by making you whole.

As you do this process, I recommend you approach it like Goldilocks. Find a way to do it that feels “just right.”

Sound Healing – It Works!

September 23rd, 2008 Edward Mills Posted in Energetics, Energy, Healing, Personal Growth, Workshops, sound healing No Comments »

Have you ever been moved to tears by a song?

Have you ever felt the music - literally - moving through your body?

Has a song ever helped you move up the emotional scale?

Music is vibration. Music is energy. And, as you’ve probably heard a million times by now, everything is energy.

So what better way to heal yourself than through sound and music.

I know that there are times when I’m not feeling as “up” as I might like. One of the best ways for me to ramp up my vibration is to put on some music. It might be a song that helps me move some emotions that are stuck in my body. Or it may be some calming, meditative music that helps me ground. Or it could be some rockin’ tune that cranks up my energy so that I can “make things happen!”

Whatever vibration I need, I know that I can find music that will provide it.

And that’s why I was thrilled to find out that Jonathan Goldman had partnered with DailyOm to create a 8-week course on Sound Healing.

If you don’t know Jonathan Goldman, he is a pioneer and an international authority on sound healing.  He is author of HEALING SOUNDS, SHIFTING FREQUENCIES, TANTRA OF SOUND (co-authored with his wife Andi), winner of the 2006 Visionary Award for “Best Alternative Health Book” and his latest THE 7 SECRETS OF SOUND HEALING (Hay House).  A lecturing member of the International Society for Music Medicine,  Jonathan presents HEALING SOUNDS SEMINARS throughout the world.  And there’s much more!

When he was creating his course, he asked himself: “If I wanted to learn about the power of sound to
heal and transform and I wanted to do it through an on-line course, what would be the most profound and important information and exercises I could impart?”

He then spent many months developing the DailyOM On-line Sound Healing Course.

Here’s just some of what you’ll take away from the Introduction to Sound Healing Course:

  • The Principles of Sound Healing: the nature of sound, hearing, resonance entrainment, intent, visualization, and belief in the manifestation process.
  • Breath: the secret of how to create a deep, relaxed breath that will amplify the electromagnetic energy of your brain and your heart.
  • Toning: learn to use your own voice to resonate your body as an instrument for healing and transformation.
  • Vowels As Mantras: discover the healing benefits of how to balance and align your etheric centers using the sacred vowel sounds.
  • And much, much more!

And the best part is that because it’s being offered through DailyOm, this course is only $39! Plus there are a ton of amazing bonuses that complement the course.

You can register for the Introduction to Sound Healing Course here.

Teleseminar Series: Energy Awareness Skills For Deliberate Creators

May 1st, 2008 Edward Mills Posted in Energy, Law of Attraction, Personal Growth, Workshops, deliberat creators, energetics of attraction, intuition, teleclass No Comments »

If you’re a SERIOUS Deliberate Creator you’ll want to check out my new teleseminar series:

Energy Awareness Skills for Deliberate Creators.

It’s a 6-week course that will teach you how to work directly with your personal energy to increase your intuition and significantly ramp up your ability to attract your desires!

As a Deliberate Creator, you know that Positive Thinking is great, Positive Emotions are even a bit better and Inspired Action is best! But you also understand that beneath all of it is Energy!

Why not work at the Energetic Source?

It’s not as difficult as you might think. And it’s certainly not impossible. In fact there have been systems of energy perception and manipulation for thousands of years.

I’ll be honest with you: I didn’t believe human energy systems when I was first exposed to them. I was definitely skeptical of the thought that I could (or someone else) “read” my energy systems and use that information to gather information and improve my life.

But I’ve experienced far too many “weird coincidences” to write off energy work to “chance.”

This 6-week course will give you the knowledge and tools to begin exploring your own energy systems so that you can align your energy with your desires.

Here’s some of what we’ll cover:

An Intuitive Meditation Technique that will improve your intuition and help you connect with your internal guidance system

The ability to consciously ground your energy and your intentions into the physical world - A critical component in your success as a Deliberate Creator!

Practical tools to strengthen your Intuition and Energy Awareness.

An intuitive technique for making difficult decisions.

An understanding of the Basic Human Energy Systems including:

  • The Grounding System
  • The Auric System
  • The Chakra System

Here’s the bottom line… If you’re a SERIOUS Deliberate Creator the material in this teleseminar series will take your Law of Attraction work to the next level - the energetic level!

You can read more about the course and register here.

And fyi, there are two Fast Action bonuses worth over $325 available to the first few people to register.

Do You Take Your Expertise For Granted?

April 30th, 2008 Edward Mills Posted in Energetics, Energy, Personal Growth, delberate creators, energetics of attraction, expert, human energy systems No Comments »

I’ve had an epiphany of sorts over that last week or so. Many of you have downloaded the Energetics of Attraction report and were either on the live teleclass calls, or listened to the MP3 recordings of them. If you haven’t, you can go get your free Energetics of Attraction Resource Package here:

But that’s not the reason for this post. No, there’s something much more interesting.

As I’ve been preparing to launch the new Energetics of Attraction Intensive - writing the report, leading the teleclasses, creating the curriculum and handouts, setting up the web pages - I’ve come to realize the extent to which I take my knowledge of the Human Energy Systems for granted!

I’ve been thrilled about the launch of this new program, but after reading through some of the questions that have come in and a phone conversation I had with one of my Mastermind Partners – a long-term Personal Development and Law of Attraction practitioner – I finally got that my understanding of and experience with the Human Energy Systems is rare, even in the personal development world.

I’ve been intensively studying the Human Energy Systems for over 12-years and sometimes I just forget that the knowledge and skills I possess are totally foreign to many (most?) people.

A while back, my friend Dawud Miracle started an interesting conversation by asking: Are You An Expert if You Can’t Share What You know?

It’s an important question. But before you can even get to that question, there’s another one that needs to be asked:

Are you an expert if you don’t acknowledge that you are?

We all have expertise. Every single one of you reading this is an expert at something. But because you are an expert at it - because it has become easy for you - you may well not even notice it.

A bird would not acknowledge that it was an expert flyer. He just flies!

A fish would not acknowledge that it was an expert swimmer. She just swims!

You probably don’t acknowledge that you’re an expert walker or breather or eater. But you are!

Of course you are an expert at other things as well, things that may not be quite so universal as walking or breathing!

But do you acknowledge your expertise? Do you accept that something you do is unique. Or do you take it for granted because it now comes so easily to you?

I learned my lesson. With over 12-years of active, intensive study into the practical applications of the Human Energy Systems I have achieved a high level of mastery. But as Dawud asked, “Am I an expert if I can’t share that knowledge?”

There is no definite, universal answer to that question. But for me, the answer is a resounding No!

After all, what use is mastery if it’s not shared?

So I have made a conscious decision to ramp up the level at which I share my knowledge of the Human Energy Systems.

The Energetics of Attraction Resource Package was the first step.

And the next step is the 6-week program: Basic Energy Awareness Skills for Deliberate Creators.

Where is your expertise? What unique wisdom, talent, knowledge or ability do you have that you take for granted?

Perhaps it is time for you to claim your expert status and share your wisdom with the world!

Earth Day, A New Earth, And Energetics

April 22nd, 2008 Edward Mills Posted in Books, Energetics, Energy, Law of Attraction, Personal Growth, a new earth, earth day, eckhart tolle, energetics of attraction, oprah No Comments »

My daughter and I had a great day at our local Earth Day festival on Sunday. Compostable balloons from Whole Foods, Seed Balls from a local summer camp, some great music and our awesome Sunday farmer’s market combined for an awesome celebration. In the afternoon I planted some salad greens, sunflowers (volunteers from the compost pile) and more broccoli in our garden.

I love days like that and I embrace the belief that “every day is Earth day!” It’s not always easy to act in ways that feel nurturing to the Earth. But by staying conscious about our relationship to this planet, our home, we can begin to live and act as if today and every day is Earth Day.

There was a beautiful coincidence - if you believe in such things - in the timing of this week’s A New Earth webcast with Eckhart Tolle and Oprah. This week’s discussion focused on the discovery and exploration of Inner Space and the stillness you find there.

This is what Tolle writes about Stillness:

Stillness is really another word for space. … You are never more essentially, more deeply, yourself than when you are still. When you are still, you are who you were before you temporarily assumed this physical and mental form called a person. You are also who you will be when the form dissolves. When you are still, you are who you are beyond your temporal existence: consciousness—unconditioned, formless, eternal.

A New Earth - Oprah and Eckhart TolleIt is through stillness that we can truly connect with the Earth. It is from our Inner Space that we can see the Earth not as an object but as a Being. From within the Stillness we can connect and communicate with and learn from the Earth.

The Earth is an amazing teacher! She has taught me much about the Law of Attraction. The Earth is the ultimate Deliberate Creator.

One of the reasons that many people struggle to attract their desires is because they focus on sending their intentions “out” to the Universe. In order to attract things in the physical world it is equally important to send those intentions “down” into the physical Earth. The Earth provides the medium within which your desires will become “real.”

The ability to ground our desires into the Earth was one of the tools we explored in the free Energetics of Attraction teleclass last week. If you missed it you can access the recording on the Energetics of Attraction Resource Page.

You’ll also get access to the free report on the Harmonics of Human Awareness. I agree with what Eckhart says in the quote below. When you are detached, or I prefer to call it fully present on all levels of perception, not locked in at one level of awareness, you experience and enjoy life more fully!

Being detached does not mean that you cannot enjoy the good that the world has to offer. In fact, you enjoy it more. … When you are detached, you gain a higher vantage point from which to view the events in your life instead of being trapped inside them. You become like an astronaut who sees the planet Earth surrounded by the vastness of space and realizes a paradoxical truth: The earth is precious and at the same time insignificant.

What steps will you take today to explore your Inner Space, honor the Earth and fully enjoy all the good this world and this life has to offer?

A Microsoft Vista Lesson In Perfectionism

April 10th, 2008 Edward Mills Posted in Energetics, Energy, Law of Attraction, Personal Growth, energetics of attraction, energy medicine, intuition No Comments »

I woke up this morning all excited to publish Part 2 of my free report: The Energetics of Attraction: Understanding and Applying the Harmonics of Human Awareness to Compose the Life You Desire. (If you haven’t read Part 1, you can get it here).

Yesterday, I spent over 4-hours “finalizing” the document. I added the section on the role of the subconscious in attraction, made revisions based on feedback I received, and added the layout elements including all the callouts and quotes.

So imagine my surprise this morning when I fired up my computer, started Word and got to the quick launch menu and saw no sign of my revised file! I spent a few minutes poking around, but rather than get completely stressed before my morning yoga class, I took a deep breath and walked downtown for some hot yoga.

After returning from yoga I searched everywhere on the internal hard drive, external hard drive, and flash drives. I’ve looked for the autorecover files. And I’ve searched Google on the slight chance that Vista has some glitch (no snide comments please!) that makes files just disappear.

No luck.

The file is gone.

So, either I had a major hallucinatory/out-of-body experience for those 4-plus-hours yesterday, or Vista/Word decided to eat that file. Either way, I can’t say that I’m thrilled!

However, being a Law of Attraction practitioner, I’m taking a lot of deep breaths and looking for the positive and the lesson in this.

One big positive is that, aside from the brief moment when I considered smashing the computer, I have remained relatively calm during this process. I haven’t whined (too much). I haven’t screamed (thought about it). I haven’t found a “Microsoft is the antichrist” website to rant on (hadn’t actually thought of that one until just now. Maybe… Nah!)

In fact, as I write this, I actually have a silly grin on my face and feel pretty good. (Check in with me again when I’m 2-hours into making those revisions again!)

Now, as for the lesson… Can you say “perfectionists anonymous?” Sure, as a coach and trainer, I encourage people to let go of perfectionism and get more done. But that’s still a life lesson I’m actively working on.

If you have already downloaded and read part 1 of the report you know that Part 2 was supposed to be done last week. Didn’t happen. Yesterday, I planned to publish it by lunchtime. Didn’t happen. So when I “finished” it around 9:00pm last night, I thought, since it was “too late” to publish it, that I would give it one more read through this morning before sending it out.

I guess that was one too many versions and the computer gods conspired to give me a gentle reminder that next time I should focus on getting it done, not perfect!

Are you a perfectionist? Do you tend to take your projects one, two or more versions beyond where they need to go? What would happen if you “finished” your project in 3 versions instead of 5? How much time would you save? How much sooner would people have access to it? How much more money would you make?

Vista is a prime example! Do you think the project managers at Microsoft knew there were bugs in Vista when they released it? Absolutely. Did they find a good balance between getting it right and getting it done? I suppose it depends on which desk you’re sitting at. If you’re in the accounting office at Microsoft, I’m sure you’re feeling pretty good about Vista being out in the world. If you’re sitting at home pulling your hair out, you may not agree!

But Microsoft aside, I’m going to challenge you, and I’m challenging myself as well, to focus on “finishing” your projects - blog posts, reports, presentations, art projects, songs, etc. - in at least one fewer drafts than you normally would.

Don’t do what I did last night and say, “I’ll just give this one more read in the morning.” Get it out the door so that you can move on to the next project.

Does this mean that some mistakes will get through? You bet. Is it the end of the world? No!

In my case, a few typos in a free report isn’t going to make someone say, “Look, there’s a typo. I’m not going to read any more of this stuff!” And, honestly, if someone is going to be turned off by some typos, I’d rather they move on to someone else’s free report!

So here’s my promise to you: I will have Part 2 of The Energetics of Attraction: Understanding and Applying the Harmonics of Human Awareness to Compose the Life You Desire published by Noon pacific time… Today! That gives me two hours to redo the revisions, quotes and other layout elements. (Now it’s 1 hour and 53 minutes because I just did a quick proof of this post!)

If you haven’t downloaded Part 1 of the report, go get it now.

And then watch for an email at Noon announcing Part 2!
